Went to Harry's twice for breakfast. It was wonderful both times but the Chilaquiles were OMG good. Loved the flavor. Service was good and coffee was not weak. The waffles with bacon were good too.

Stayed in Santa Fe for a week and enjoyed trying different restaurants. Was hesitant to go here because every time we passed the place looked packed. Thinking that meant it was really a good place to eat, we finally went. We were seated in the...so called sun room with the heaters and it was very hot. It was very noisy. Hard to have a conversation at your table when the gentleman 2 tables down sounds like he's sitting right beside you. We had a buffalo burger and a southwest salad. Hubby said the burger was delicious. Salad wasn't what I consider southwest due to it mainly being a loaded veggie salad, however, it was still good. Server took care of us and checked on us often. Wasn't a place I would care to go back to with all the choices in the area.More

I always get a little leery going to places featured on Diners Drive-In and Dives. But Harry's Roadhouse did not disappoint. My wife and I had breakfast and both our entrees were well prepared. My chilaquiles had an excellent green chile cream sauce on them,...while my wife had the Triple-D promoted blue corn waffles with bacon. She loved it. We were also able to sit in the enclosed sunroom which was well-heated by some nearby space heaters. It was good to feel "outside" on a cold March morning. Service was perhaps the only drawback. Not bad service, mind you, just a tad inattentive. We had to routinely ask for coffee, for example. But Harry's Roadhouse is certainly worth a visit.More

We are never disappointed at Harry’s Roadhouse. The food and drinks are fresh, original, and always delicious. We most often sit at the bar, because meeting other fun and interesting people is part of the experience.

Love Harry’s. Loved Harry and Peyton. For years and years. 20? More? With family and friends. With guests here in SFe, always. Now that H & P have retired, love the new owners. Absolutely up to scratch. Along with our fave server, Mary. Weird long...winded complaining on TA about no seating until entire party is present. It’s ALWAYS been the policy. Along with good service, food, setting. No better chow in NM. Just go.More

Our party of friends and family were appalled to learn of a "policy" that seems new, yet was spoken of as if it has always been in play. This policy is: no one gets seated at a table until all in the party are present....We have been going to Harry's since the 1990s and plenty in recent years. We have never, ever run into this absurd policy until our most recent visit in FEB 2024. We arrived at 4:40 PM after an out-patient medical procedure for one of us who needed food as soon as feasible. We selected Harry's for proximity to medical offices, the usually good food & options, it was close to dinner time, and we could perhaps join with another friend who lives nearby as well. Upon arriving to see lots and lots of vacant tables, there were surprisingly 4-6 people sitting in the waiting area. We approached the "hostess" (who really was no more than a robot trained to say things in a pleasant way as if that makes them just), who had us give a name and the number in our party, followed by " and are you all here?" What? We expected just to be shown to a table. Instead, we had to say that all but one of us was present, and the "hostess" said to come back when all had arrived & were present. We were stunned. There was additional inquiry for what the heck was she saying and why, and she stated that this is their "policy for when we are busy, and we are about to be busy." Again, 4:35-40 PM, and we've never, ever heard of this ever at Harry's, even during busy times, and this certainly was not yet one of those. We reapproached after a minute of consideration to clarify that our other person might not be able to join at all or could be joining later (the truth), and we asked to be seated. The "hostess" responded that we should maybe text them to get confirmation and have them show up. She said she would not seat us until we were all present. She said, like a robot, "I'm sorry; this is just our policy." Again, never, ever before have we ever seen or heard of such a policy anywhere, including at Harry's. This seating “policy” is a game not worth playing. Meanwhile, we had an opportunity to observe those in the waiting area also being blocked from drinks or chips or orders while they wait for the rest of their party to arrive. One small party of 3 joyfully approached the hostess and said, "we're all here now!" and she took action to seat them. First in one dining area, then another, and then back again to another--no idea where, among all the empty tables and tables in every room, they actually selected to sit. As well, people who arrived after we did, but who were "complete" (her words) in number to be seated were seated ahead of us. 4-6 groups walked in and got seated right away. The experience was absurd and completely repugnant. We opted to leave; because of this seating “policy,” we could not get seated. The whole experience was so offensive and dumb: it reflects they care less about their customers and a sense of community or service and more about selling seats and packing in the people. If this is the way Harry's will continue, they ought to go into the airline business instead of continuing as a restaurant that causes injustices: first come is not first served at Harry's, and certainty of number in the party locks you out of getting seated when you arrive “incomplete,” and puts you at the back of the line, while they make you wait and watch others without a missing member go right in. Go to the Cowgirl or Ranch House instead; these are far more welcoming and do not play such games just to get seated and a bite to eat—or even started on one, with or without others who might or might not join. In fact, any other restaurant (Outback, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc.) will not put this opportunistic and idiotic constraint on customers, potential or real. Harry's is now no longer on our list of places we like to go or will go in future, as we will not support this BS seating “policy.”More

Very reasonable pricing. Will definitely go there again!More

Recently, I have heard nefarious rumors that suggest a decline in the quality of food and service at Harry's. As a long-term and regular diner there, I can vouch for Harry's continued excellence re: hospitality, quality and diversity of the menu, and moderate prices. With...a recent change in ownership, it has only become better, Harry's is one of a handful of restaurants in Santa Fe, that delivers excellent and "diverse" food at moderate prices. It is rewarding to see Harry's extending its hours, which had been curtailed as a result of the pandemic.More

Full disclosure: we go Harry’s on a regular basis, which should in itself serve as a strong recommendation since we’re pretty picky. Last night we sat at the bar, which is a convivial place so we got to talk with our neighbors as well as...ourselves. We ordered a Greek salad to share, which was scrumptious. For my main, I ordered gumbo, an old favorite special that never disappoints, and my companion chose a super tostada. For dessert we shared an amazing strawberry rhubarb pie, which was out of this world. As always, the bartenders and staff in the front were friendly and competent. IMO, Harry’s is consistently the best, reasonably priced eatery in all of northern New Mexico.More

We live in Santa Fe and haven't been to Harry's since the pandemic, though we used to go frequently. My wife had a bacon and sharp cheddar omelet with tomatoes and scallions, potatoes and tea; I had an omelet with Swiss cheese, sausage and onion,...fruit instead of potatoes and coffee. Our server, Darlyn, was excellent. It took a while for our meals to arrive, but when they did, they were nicely presented and hot. Both omelets were large, but in both cases, the "extras" (other than the Swiss cheese, of which there was a large amount) were small portions and balled together in the center rather than mixed throughout. When I asked for fruit rather than potatoes, I wasn't told there was a surcharge. Ordinarily that wouldn't bother me. But in this case, "fruit" was a very small container with only sliced strawberries - probably the equivalent of 2 large strawberries - and the up charge was $4, which seemed steep. The tab, including a 20% tip, came to about $48. Frankly, the meal was "nothing to write home about", the price was towards the high side of what a good couples' breakfast out in Santa Fe costs at what are, in my opinion, better places to go, and we won't put Harry's back in the rotation for our Saturday morning breakfasts.More

Let me preface my review by saying I’ve lived in the area for nearly 30 years, and in the ‘old days,’ my wife and I ate at Harry’s once a week. Loved it. Then after the big remodel years ago, it kind of went downhill....We returned once or twice and felt the same way. An out-of-town friend wanted to try it, so we had brunch there this week. It is OK, not great, not bad, and certainly not worth the ‘hype,’ nor would I wait to eat there. We didn’t, thankfully, and the outside patio is indeed super nice. But the food? I had the Catfish Po Boy, which was one of my favorites in the old days (along with Turkey Ruben and Meatloaf). The catfish was crispy but not big in flavor, and the sandwich was on the dry side even with all the Jalapeños tartar I could apply. The slaw was just OK. The fries were very tasty, however. That said, I think the fish sandwich at Fina Cafe (One for David) is vastly superior. My wife had the Salmon tacos, which were OK, but nothing special in town with vastly better fish tacos. Black beans? OK, but nothing to write home about. All in all, not bad but kind of forgettable. You can do better (go down the street to Fina Cafe, for one). Service was good, and again, their patio is really lovely. I’d go back if someone demanded we go, but Harry’s wouldn’t be on my shortlist or even my medium list of places in this foody town to eat.More
