I love visiting special places that love what they do and pour their love into their craft… like this place! We had an elixir and a milk shake and picked out a medium sized box of truffles. Everything was incredible. Nothing too sweet, the flavors...are thrilling!More

Kakawa is a nice little chocolate shop a little bit past the Canyon Road area of Santa Fe. We were between meals so stopped in for a few sweet treats. The dark chocolate was good and the ones infused with chili were tasty and not...too hot. We also shared a few truffles and we all agreed it was nice to get a variety of chocolates which allowed us to try a few different things. The shop is not too large, but with a few tables spaced out nicely we were able to sit, relax and enjoy our chocolates. We also liked looking at the pictures of famous folks who have visited. Kakawa also offers homemade ice cream, we may have to try the ice cream next visit. While there we chatted with the owner, and who knew, they also have a spot in Salem, MA! Maybe we will check it out next time we are up in New England!More

I may have spent $75 on chocolate but do I regret it? No. We got a box of all of the truffles so we could try them all. I’d say don’t do that, just try the ones you think you’d like. But definitely don’t skip...the sipping hot chocolate. I’d get the small if I were you because I couldn’t finish my large size. The line moves very quick!More

Second time visiting. First time we went was great, loved the service and great product. Went back with my friend and her service dog, who was fully trained and wore required vest etc, and when we got a place to site down to enjoy our...drinks before ordering chocolates to go a middle aged guy comes up and gets in my friends face very aggressively and tells her she has to leave because she has a dog. We explained it was a service animal and he flat out says he doesn’t care and tells us to leave now. Before any of this when I was ordering I saw him also arguing with the other employees just because I asked for almond milk, which they had no issue with but he for some reason did. He was rude, aggressive and unprofessional. I don’t know if he was the owner or manager but either way it was uncalled for. Will not be returningMore

Kakawa Chocolate House is a MUST for chocolate lovers and or ice cream lovers. The staff is friendly and explains different elixirs and will give a sample. My husband and I truly enjoyed the chocolate elixir flight! The Chili, Kakawa American, Golden and Jeffersonian were...our favs. A first time experience for both of us. Highly recommend! We walked out with other chocolates, elixir mix and bowl of house made ice cream. What a treat! Very busy place with limited seating inside and outside. Limited parking spots as well. They do have a restroom for customers - which is a nice option since many stores in Santa Fe do not offer their restrooms.More

I have a confession. I've never been a really big chocolate lover. Don't get me wrong, I didn't HATE it or anything, I just never really got what the big deal was. And then I went to Kakawa. I'd heard good things about it, it...was just down the street from our hotel, and we'd been walking a while and needed a pick me up. It was fairly crowded when we entered the small shop, but the friendly staff was ready to help give us the lay of the land. While there, we tried a sampler of four different drinking chocolate varieties and two truffles. Mind. Blown. We wound up buying two bags of drinking chocolate (that chili one has a kick!) and a custom eight piece truffle box. They were all inventive and amazing, but that horchata truffle is decadent. In one visit, I went from being a take it or leave it chocolate type, to a true believer who spent almost $100 on chocolate to take home. Yeah, it's that good.More

This is a first place where we were able to buy a flight of hot chocolates!! All the chocolates were delicious and hit different taste buds. They also sell chocolates, hot chocolate "elixirs", brownies and ice cream.

Something different to try. Enjoyed a flight of 4 different hot chocolates. We liked the regular hot chocolate options. The chili hot chocolate was not our fave. We prefer our chili heat in our entree.

This little building is full of magic! As soon as we stepped in, very knowledgeable staff greeted us and introduced us to their products. We were offered taste tests of the available drinks and allowed plenty of time to browse and make our choices. The...drinks were rich and delicious! Three ounces is exactly the perfect amount to experience this delight. A must visit for any chocolate lover!More
