My husband and I were trolling around for places to eat desserts at and we happen to land at this place. I am totally glad we did because we came back the following day for lunch and it was the best thing ever. I ordered the burger and my husband the burrito-- we were blown away by the explosions of... Surprisingly large inside with a secret patio separate entrance. Free Parking lot across the street We went for Thanksgiving dinner and I'm sure you are wondering why a Mexican restaurant on the holiday. Chile Cranberry Turkey breast was a special and it was yummy! A traditional holiday dinner with a spicy twist. One major disappointment was that they serve no... More

We stopped in for dinner on this November evening and both choose the blue corn enchiladas with adovada. Our super swell wait person suggested that we have them topped with green chile rather than the traditional red as the pork has already been marinated in red chile. Great suggestion. The flavor of the fire roasted green chiles really added a... More

Ate lunch at Casa Chimayo with friends. The waiter was good. But I had the posole and was very disappointed. It was not only hotter than I like (for which I would not have lowered my rating) but it had very little hominy or corn in it. I only ate half of the soup I was served. I also had... More

Had we not had our Pomeranian with us we would likely have accorded Chimayo 3 stars as it seemed pretty average in most respects. The Blue Corn Enchiladas were definitely superior--in fact, and I would recommend them to anyone who chooses Chimayo. On the other hand, my wife's tacos were decidedly below average--very plain and unseasoned without any of spicy... More

Our experience here was fantastic! The restaurant was super charming! We got here right when they opened at 5pm and it filled up quickly. It was happy hour so I started with a prickly pear margarita which was good, very sweet, but good! We also got guacamole, and the chips that came with it were the extra crispy kind -... More

Casa Chimayo is a must for us every time we visit Santa Fe. Love the casual, quaint, hole-in-the-wall type atmosphere. Love the Chiles en Nogada, the salsa, the guacamole, the margaritas and the Tres Leches cake. Yum!

The people were very friendly and really assisted us with the menu. The drinks are extra large so be careful and you are drinking at altitude. The venue is located within an historic property and family owned. The portions of food are large and full of incredible tastes. Highly recommended.

I live in Santa Fe and eat at different restaurants throughout the city. This place has the most authentic New Mexican red chili, green chili-chicken enchiladas, and posole of any restaurant in town. The most publicized tourist restaurants can not come close to the quality and flavor of this rustic, home style food. Do yourself a favor and try it... More

While attending a conference I had lunch at Casa Chimayo with some business associates. Although the food is good, I'm not convinced that it's better than at several of the other highly rated and equally affordable New Mexican restaurants in the area. The funky atmosphere is fun and makes it worth trying this restaurant out. We were there in a... More
