The Plaza Cafe was a refreshing surprise after driving all night to get to Santa Fe. We were seated promptly with our drink order taken right away. The waiter returned and took our food order shortly thereafter and was very pleasant. The entrees arrived timely and hot with drinks being refilled without being requested. We were very pleased with both selections and would highly recommend this place for breakfast. Great work by the management for having such an attentive staff.

This place is hopping on a sunny day . We had about a 15-20 minute wait to get in on Good Friday . The place was packed. The service was very nice and quick , as well as the food . If you like BLTs then you will not be disappointed here . They serve it on a cheese jalapeño bread - delicious. It gave a traditional sandwich a little cheeky update . The avocados on the BLT were fresh and perfectly ripe . My husband had the spicy salmon salad and loved it. It is worth the wait .

Three of us at 0830 on a Friday morning - the restaurant was spotless, seating and service was immediate. Food was hot, straight from the grill, orange juice was ice cold, coffee was good and topped up several times, water was the same. Prices are decent - there was parking in the shade across the service road. There was outsice seating available under an interesting shade that slides to allow good air circulation. I'll be there again soon.

My daughter decided to Spend the day in Santa Fe. We decided to try the southside Plaza Cafe, instead of the Plaza. I was very disappointed in the service. The place was busy and I get it, but the waitress didn’t like the fact that I had questions, and excused herself to wait on others instead of answering my questions. The food runner dropped off our food, even though I tried asking for more silverware and napkin, he just blew us off as a drop and run. Though he had time to stop and talk to a couple of regulars. I finally caught an eye of a coworker of our server and had to wave the one set of silverware and napkin as she didn’t come to the table to see what I needed. She flew by with a set. I had seen the manager pouring coffee at a table two over and she gave me more coffee. But my server didn’t check on us, or even really talk to us from the time she took my order to the point of paying. I gave her 20%, because I’m like that, but she did not deserve it. Yes, the Plaza Cafe on the Plaza is always packed and a line out the door, but they are more personable. I’d rather stand in line, then go to south side again.

We were charged $20 for a large party consisting of 2 couples and one 11 year old. Seems this would not constitute a large party especially since no further seating arrangement was need. Didn’t see any information stating seating policy but recommended for anyone beyond 3 or 4 ask about this at least when bill arrives. I did not but will in future when dining in Santa Fe. Food was good but not outstanding to justify prices. Paid $17.50 for green chili burger that included unripe tomato. For that price, need to learn how to ripen tomatoes prior to serving in the restaurant business.

With a plethora of tasty restaurant options in the vicinity, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant because we hadn't been there in a while and wanted to see what was new. My companion had the posole stew, perfectly spiced with green chile and with warm tortillas to accompany it. I tried the "upside-down" Frito pie, because I enjoy this uniquely northern New Mexican treat and hadn't had it in this version. It was excellent, and I ended up having a second lunch a few days later from the leftovers. This is a great place to bring kids, but as an older couple we were quite happy with the quick, friendly service, tasty food, and (in my case) the beer on tap. Both this restaurant and its downtown Santa Fe original are must-stops for those wanting to step out of the usual Tex-Mex fare in other cities and get a taste of authentic New Mexico.

We were looking for a restaurant that was fairly close to the airport and came across the Plaza Cafe Southside. What a lucky surprise! Despite arriving mid-afternoon, the restaurant was fully staffed, and our food was delivered promptly. And oh, the food...my husband got the Spicy Fish & Chips which he said weren't really spicy--just the sauce which is served on the side. He gobbled every bite and started looking at my Fish Tacos. But I successfully protected my FABULOUS fish tacos. They had the perfect combination of crunch and spice. YUM! Excellent service, a nice, cheerful atmosphere, plenty of parking, and only 10 minutes from the airport. An absolute winner! (The only disappointing aspect of our visit was that we weren't hungrier and so we weren't able to sample their desserts. They LOOKED amazing!)

Plaza South was my favorite go-to restaurant for fabulous tacos. Until yesterday. I was completely taken by surprise when my plate arrived and instead of three recognizable and yummy tacos in a taco holder, it was a mass of tomatoes and shredded lettuce over 2 mounds all of which was covered with a thinned sour cream drizzle. Exceedingly messy. The filling in the "tacos" was a large potato wedge a smidgen of over cooked beef, and no cheese. At least the rice and bean sides were tasty. I asked the waiter if they had a new chef and was told the owner had just decided to change the menu. These were NOT Norteno tacos. I have no idea what they were other than an overpriced potato filler passed off as tacos. I couldn't believe this was $18.25. I am giving this review a 3 instead of a 2 only because the hostess, waiter and server were excellent as the staff usually is. I will be finding a new favorite restaurant for tacos....perhaps even a fast food chain. So very disappointed.

The tacos were deep fried with a spicey, greasy meat. Tasty but overcooked. I had the same meat filling in my stuffed sopapilla. It was ok. I've had better at mom-and-pop places. Atmosphere was exceptional but I wouldn't go back. Place is hidden so go in front of Lowes and head south. It's set back at the very end.

Plaza Cafe Southside is decorated with regional art, black and white photos and plenty of chrome to create a cozy café atmosphere. The service was excellent. My son & I had the blue corn piñon pancakes with orange butter and cinnamon syrup. They were EXTREMELY DELICIOUS! We also had their thick sugar cured bacon on the side. That is some serious bacon, people: about a foot long and much more meat than fat. Yummy! My husband had the BLT. It was the most beautiful BLT I’ve ever seen with thick sliced bread, the thick cut bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and avocados. He says it’s a 10/10! We will go out of our way to return to Plaza Cafe Southside next time we are in Sant Fe!

Had a great dinner with five other colleagues here after a long day of travel from the East Coast. The food was great with some excellent choices of local and American cuisine in a old fashioned diner setting. I knocked it down a star because I felt the server could have been more attentive at times our drinks were neglected. However, the sopapillas at the end with honey made up for all faults. Great choice right on the Santa Fe square. I would come back again.

Perfect breakfast, brunch and lunch spot on the plaza with both indoor and outdoor seating. Authentic delivery of a wide variety of Mexican, Southwestern an American fare. Good value for the money with ample portions and nice drink selection. Good choice for families/ kids and adults only.

Food was unique and delicious! There was a crowd of people waiting but only had to wait about 20 minutes and I could see why. The staff was fast, efficient and courteous but did not rush you through your meal. Our order was served quickly which is great while traveling. We will definitely eat there again when in Santa Fe.

Great service, excellent food. Ordered the patty melt with Avocado which was delish. Fries were a fine side. Strawberry shake with extra tin was very good; thick and rich. Small draft beer selection covers most beer styles. Good ambiance with interesting wall art. Outdoor seating available but it was too windy.

I rated so high because hubby had the patty melt and it was DIVINE (and we are from OK) - but this was one the the best ever!! His also came with the green chile soup which was so good. I had the stuffed sopapilla … I had sauce on the side and chose the green after tasting. I got the beef, which was just loose ground hamburger inside. Cheese on top. Wasn’t what I expected and just ‘ok’. Would have been 5 stars if my dish had been exceptional. Still a solid 4 due to the fun ambiance and great staff
