This is a small restaurant, with an excellent (well-deserved) reputation, so I'd advise making reservations. My cousins had been here before and rather than order from the menu, we asked him to make us a dinner. We started with a really delicious soup--it had more body than regular miso soup, but may have been the chef's version. Then he made... More

This place had very delicious sushi at a decent price. It was my boyfriend's first sushi experience ever and he loved it! The only thing I didn't care for is that there were no drinks on tap or fountain. The setting was very cozy, perfect for a date. We'll definitely be back.

After visiting Santa Fe for five years, we finally found a sushi restaurant that's almost as good as what we have in Florida! The sushi chef makes your order right there with fresh ingredients, so you know exactly what you're getting. They also have non-sushi items, ex., bento boxes, rice bowls, etc. for the non-sushi eaters (my husband). Unfortunately, this... More

Santa Fe, having no ocean nearby and not being near a large airport like Albuquerque is, finds trouble in getting good quality sushi. This restaurant is my favorite one, though it should be noted that they have a smaller selection than some sushi places, and a lot of what they offer uses the cooked items like crab and unagi. Still,... More

I love Japanese food but, Santa Fe is not the place to eat it. If you have to eat Japanese though, this is the best quality for price. The owner is very charming and will make you anything you desire if asked. If you truly love fish, stay away from anything raw it's just not handled in transport here for... More

Of our many visits to Santa Fe this was our first visit to a sushi restaurant in that city. One doesn't normally associate sushi with the Southwest, but this was worth a try. The interior setting looked like it could have been off a street in Japan. The place is fairly small, the server friendly and the food great. My... More

Very good lunch with very fresh sushi and innovative rolls. The miso soup was thick and very flavorful. The service was a little slow but the place was packed and the waitress tried very hard to be everywhere at once! We did not mind, she was very sweet and friendly and the food was awesome! We had a little bit... More

Masa-san delivers a Kyoto - inspired sushi kaiseki experience. The best option is to order the omakase course, where you trust the chef to craft a perfect meal. Expect combinations of sushi, sashimi, and seasonal cooked dishes. It's like being in Kyoto.

We have eaten there ten times now. We never go to Santa Fe unless we eat there at least once. He doesn't always have every fish - why would he, he ONLY uses what he can get of the HIGHEST quality. And what does he make? INCREDIBLE food, wonderful finesse, perfect balance. We go in, we order food, we're asked... More

I love this small place on Water street. The owner is always there working hard and smiling and greeting his guests. Fish is always fresh and there are a large selection of rolls, nigiri and other items. Masa is always happy to make something special. The waitress is so sweet and attentive and happy to suggest items. Nice selection of... More
