The food was different and not the normal menu. Only got three stars as the stables were too close together and we kept being bumped by the serving staff. Plus the food was slow to be served. Too crowded for their own good.

While located in a strip mall and decorated without pretense this place provides an exceptional dining experience. The menu is varied and filled with unusual and intriguing items. The service is warm and friendly. The chef/owner's greeting and farewell was warm and thoughtful. A far cry from the chain restaurants. My only regret is that I can't go there more... More

We read the reviews on yelp and TA and Jambo measured up. The food was excellent as was the service. We had a delicious dish, of morrocan lamb w sweet potatoes and chick peas. It was enough for 2 . We also ordered the jerk chicken wh came w plantains wh were particularly excellent. Also liked the ambiance and the prices... More

I ate here with my mother for lunch. She ordered the vegetarian sandwich and I ordered the lentil soup with roti. We both thought our meals were delicious and the servings were generous. I would say this was the best roti I have ever had also. I also had the date coconut flourless chocolate cake to go. One of the... More

An outstanding restaurant. It feels so comfortable being there. The African dishes are really comfort food. Don't pass up their lentil, sweet potato soup if it's on special. All the stews are delightful. I'm glad I'm living in Santa Fe now so I can go there often.

I've come to conclude that stretching Santa Fe restaurants beyond the typical fare leaves me somewhat disappointed. The smell got me in the parking lot... it was AWESOME! The service was first rate... The food - the reason to come - left me a bit short. The hummus plate was tasty, if a little dry and my vegetarian sandwich was...... More

My husband and I spent about a week in Santa Fe and I had lunch here once and we both had dinner once. Both meals were outstanding and the service was excellent. We are from the southern US and we both love New Mexico cuisine with all the chili. It is quite different from what we are accustomed to, however... More

Jambo Cafe is an African/Caribbean restaurant in a large space in a strip mall. My jerked chicken was excellent as was the key lime pie. Be sure to visit the adjacent retail space which has African items for sale. I even found some Piri Piri, an African spice for jerking chicken. I have never seen this for sale since my... More

We have visited the Jambo Cafe several times over the last two years. It is always a wonderful experience. My favorite so far is the lamb stew.

Deep rich flavors, an interesting menu, variety, and creativity make Jambo Cafe an exceptional find. We were there on Monday and this is Wednesday. I wish I were there now!
