A trolley tour driver recommended this place to us. It's just about 2 miles from tourist area. I made reservations and glad I did as it was busy! A lot of locals obviously eat here. A very interesting menu - African with some Carribean flavors. Varied menu with very interesting choices. The food was EXCELLENT! I had a fish dish that... More

After several weeks travelling USA and manly hating the food this place was a piece of heaven. Great lentil stew with roti, really good prawn piripiri . Wine not perfect (needed to be colder) but great dessert , flourless date and coconut chocolate cake. Best food in ages.

Wow!! We are in SF visiting a friend - who informed us "we must eat here!" We did and have been twice on our trip! The food is fabulous, I have had the Moroccan Chicken Skewers and the Jerk Chicken Salad. Tablemates all loved their meals as well. Most dishes are gluten free, and they are very open about accommodating... More

So, we're review #1,002. As with most before us, what a nice and tasty change to the more routine (but still great) options in SF. We lunched with the shrimp appetizer and the slow roasted Caribbean goat stew with curry. Superb stew, very good shrimp with a sweet mango dipping sauce. We then ventured two doors down and bought the... More

Chef (Amad) as we all call him (us locals that is) we experience major culinary delights when we go to Jambo. You will have the most awesome not run of the average food. From his African heritage his combination of spices and favors are amazing. The wait staff knows us by name. If you come in the summer please call... More

Arrived on a weeknight for a table for four, and only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The ambience is charming in that there were homemade butterflies hanging from the ceiling under our table, as well as many votive candles that lent a warm glow to the comfortably dimmed dining room. We came for the goat stew,... More

If you're in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and enjoy trying new types of cuisine, I recommend dinner at Jambo's Café. It's laid back, it's friendly, and the food is great. One Friday during Indian Market, I decided not to fight the crowds downtown, and to give this place a try. I had their specials of the day, black bean soup... More

My wife walked down the street from the El Rey Inn to this cafe last night while on our Route 66 trip. I had seen the TripAdvisor reports and other commendations so expected good things. I ordered the Indican Indian Pale Ale to drink (goes well with spicy food!) and my wife had a glass of dry, white wine. We... More

We had the fried plaintains for an appetizer, and they were so delicious! Our entrees were even better. The mango ginger lemonade is divine! I am a big fan! Will make an effort to go back whenever I am in Santa Fe.

Maybe I've just ordered the wrong things the four times I've been there. Almost everyone I know loves this place. I've found a couple of people who agree with me - but FOURTH best place in Santa Fe?
