There is a reason there is a wait to get in. Don't let that detour you. The specialty of the house is their enchiladas, and that is where you should start. There used to be a saying in the Old West.., "Beware the man who...has only one gun, for he surely knows how to use it." They understand what red chili sauce is and how to make it. Oh, and if a margarita is your thing.., be assured that they are among the very BEST that Santa Fe has to offer at a much fairer price. So have a seat and wait till they call you.., you can thank me later (or just get there early).More

Kind of hard to find this place. Their overhead sign is tricky to see. The food is good and classic Santa Fe dishes. We found their prices very competitive compared to other Santa Fe restaurants that were gouging the customer. Santa Fe food specialties are...a little too spicy for my taste buds, but if that is what you enjoy, then this is a good place to try out. Casual. Rustic. Old old building. Good service from pleasant staff. We recommend. The prices here you cannot beat in Santa Fe.More

We have enjoyed dining at the shed over the years. Tonight I had the tamale dinner and my wife had the taco and enchilada dinner with an egg on top. We both had “silver coin” margaritas with an upgrade to the tequila. Our server Richard...was both attentive and provided great suggestions about where in town to visit.More

It is EXTREMELY difficult getting a reservation at The Shed. After two days we got in on the third day as a wait list. The soaps are fantastic! Delicious! We had corn chowder and gazpacho soups. Fantastic! The entrees were disappointing. The wines were above...average.More

So exciting to return to this wonderful, well-run place. An easy walk from all things in central Santa Fe, the line begins to form a half hour before opening. Outdoor terrace was beautiful and buzzy, our charming server Lilya was terrific despite covering many tables....NM menu did not disappoint, delicious portions were ample and reasonably prices. Best house margaritas! Leave room for dessert.More

The Shed still has it. We first visited this Santa Fe fixture decades ago, and we went back recently to find that they have maintained their high standards. The patio is still a beautiful place, service is gracious and efficient, salads are fresh, the guacamole...is excellent, and their red chile is still as good as I’ve ever eaten.More

As a local we had a guest come to town and decided to go to THE SHED which is an iconic Santa Fe Restaurant. I ordered a chicken burrito, which was just a burrito for $10.00 because you had to order the plate to get...the beans and rice. What a disappointment, it was 95 percent beans. It also had really strong uncooked onions that were intense. And they did not serve sopaipillas , which is always served with this iconic Spanish food, but instead a slice of Italian bread which was toasted so much it tasted like air. When I asked the waitress she said that the restaurant is not big enough to have a fryer to make them. I certainly cannot believe that. We won't be back.More

The Shed shows there is a large degree of difference in quality, depending on preparation, in similar named entrees from restaurant to restaurant. We had heard good things about the Shed , but the menu looked similar to others. We gave it a shot on...our last trip to Santa Fe - hence the review. The best Mexican/Southwest restaurant we have visited aside from Tuscon - items here are on par . Guacamole is universal, almost generic- rarely worth a line in a review. We doubled down on the appetizer even though we each had ordered large entrees. Staff was great- I am not generally a tequila drinker- but staff pointed out a margarita that was smooth as silk. We ate 2 nights. Reservations a must. We were on the patio.More

The food, margaritas and service was outstanding at the bar. Great price for what you got as well. We didn't have reservations, but sat at the bar. The restaurant was very busy.

We enjoyed our meal at The Shed. The good and service were both very good. I would suggest making reservations as it gets crowded everyday.

We were in town for the Spanish Market. Had an early dinner and it was quite good. I had the blue corn tacos with the green chile turkey sausage and a cup of the pork stew. All the offerings were well received at our table....Good service too.More

Great atmosphere. Great staff. Be prepared to wait an hour or two if you don’t have a reservation. Fish tacos, blue corn tortilla burritos, blue corn tortilla tacos, and the chips & salsa trio were all tasty. You might even see a famous person dining...with the locals! You will enjoy The Shed!More

Lovely venue and nice service I realize than New Mexican “Mexican” is a little different Nonetheless this was a waste of money and 60 minute wait time Chicken item had bland boiled chicken, bean were inedible, and even the cocktails were meh. Well past it’s...prime and not worth the timeMore
