Delicious Sandwiches, Salads, and More

This place rules! We had the turkey sandwich and tuna vin salad. The ingredients were fresh and the food was masterfully prepared and assembled. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend walking around back and sitting at a table. It feels like you're eating in a peaceful garden.

Great sandwiches and surprising food-related items for sale

I had the spicy italian sandwich. Wendy back a couple days later and got another one. This is a great option if you need to pack a lunch for a hike, kayak tour, or the ferry ride back to the mainland. Shortbread cookies are awesome too!

Stop by for a quick lunch and enjoy a superb meal

Excellent restaurant, fresh and innovative menu. I’ve eaten at market chef a few times in the summers I’ve sailed into Friday Harbor, as the restaurant is walking distance to the docks. My favorite are the crab cakes with aioli. The restaurant also offers a delicious grilled mixed vegetables which easily enhances the flavor of all other dishes. I recommend stopping by and try their food

Amazing food and kid friendly!

The food was excellent and we didn’t have to wait too long. It was also great that they had a secret kid’s sandwich menu. Perfect for lunch with young kids.

Great Sandwiches!

We had three different sandwiches. Really nice, fresh bread and inventive selections that were really tasty. The staff was super nice and helpful!

Quick lunch walking distance to the Harbor

We stopped for a quick lunch when we arrived in the harbor before we went on our hiking trip. The crab cakes we’re tasty. Our sandwiches were OK but underwhelming. And I was disappointed the didn’t have more desserts to choose from. I did like the outdoor seating though that was very lovely

We went for lunch. Menu somewhat varied with some “different”choices for lunch. Maybe a little too gourmet for my taste, although some of our parties sandwiches looked delicious. The clam cakes were good, but nothing special. The squash soup was good, but-nothing special. You can dine at tables indoor while gathering your meal as it is prepared and called; or you can dine in the back on a terrace area or on the front porch outside of the restaurant. It is serve yourself after you order. Various items on the menu are a little pricey for lunch. Nice ambience. Staff helpful and accommodating. Probably would return and try something else on the menu.

Excellent Lunch

Our plan was to pick up a sandwich so that we had something to eat while wine tasting at the San Juan Island Winery. This place had so much more than sandwiches. I had a salad trio from the great selection of fresh prepared salads. My husband had a delicious tuna sandwich and our friends had the crab cakes and salad. All the food was outstanding!

Fantastic food and a charming setting

Friendly and fun staff. Excellent healthy food. Very tasty. My wife and I were here on our anniversary and enjoyed having lunch in their garden. Not too expensive. Just a short walk from the ferry terminal.

A little bit of everything!

We came here for lunch with friends that live on the island. There are many options for salads and sides, soups, and sandwiches. There is also an area offering local goods and products as well as interesting housewares for sale. I stocked up on some Christmas gifts while we waited for our sandwiches. The porch is a perfect spot to people watch and soak up the sun while we ate our lunch. The food is high quality, fresh, healthy, and tasty from scratch with lots of varieties for everyone. Look for the special of the day and soup options.

Great Sandwiches

This place is a few steps off of the mains FH path, but it is well worth the extra steps! The bread is fresh and the sandwiches are made with quality ingredients. I highly recommend the spicy Italian!

Excellent, tasty sandwiches for take-out

My husband and I stopped here on a recommendation from a local. The sandwiches were a bit pricey, but very tasty! We got our sandwiches to go and took them to Kiln State Park to eat them waterside at the picnic tables - tasty lunch with awesome views!
