I completely agree with another reviewer, who mentioned it is confusing on where to sit and whether you are served or have to go self order. The staff were nice, but it was busy thus not all that friendly or helpful. I believe they think everyone should know what to do but they need to keep in mind a lot of people here are visitors. Granted if you are a "frequent" islander you would know and you probably would have a better experience. I went here because it was pet friendly. The view of the harbor was spectacular and fun to watch the seaplanes and ferries coming and going. Food was overpriced so just got a bowl of chowder, it was "ok". Go for the view and the beer and don't expect great service and you won't be disappointed.

Great food but weird service, or lack there of! We didn't see any signs or directions so just grabbed a couple seats at the bar facing the street. Amazing view!! We sat for awhile and hubby finally went up to the bar to ask about menus and drinks. The guy said sure, here's some menu's, are you going to pay or open a tab! That was it!! We perused the menu, placed our order and sat back down. Pretty quickly somebody was yelling our name!! They delivered the food and drinks, each time yelling out our name as if for the first time!! Between drinks, soup, tacos, oysters and a Polish dog, that was 6 times!! The food was amazing, all of it!! The smoked salmon chowder was thick and rich with just the right amount of salmon and clams. The fish and shrimp tacos both were grilled and nicely spicy, not over powering. The polish dog is huge! Now, those oysters though, they were phenomenal!! Grilled to perfection and the caper broth they add is genius! I definitely highly recommend Friday's, especially for the chowder and oysters, and will come back for sure!

I'm a summer local who decided to give this place a try. I was greeted by friendly servers. who told me the place was pet friendly. I found it confusing whether you sit and a server comes to you or you order at the center grill. It's the later. Food arrived quickly, was tasty but the portions were skimpy. Fifteen dollars for two "street" fish tacos is overpriced in my book. The place caters to tourists who don't know any better. I won't be back.

After talking to a friendly chef as she grilled local oysters on the lower level of Friday’s Crabhouse, my friend and I thought it a good place to eat lunch. We were directed upstairs and claimed an outside corner table a short distance from the circular bar. Although the restaurant was not busy at this time, not one of several waiters approached us to offer water, a menu, or instruction. It was thus several minutes after seating ourselves that we finally realized menus were found and orders placed while standing at the bar. We ordered the smoked salmon chowder and crab cakes with a side salad, along with grilled oysters. Our expectations were lowered further when our food selections were delivered to our table by a disinterested waiter in styrofoam bowls and a red plastic basket with plastic utensils. Still, the chowder was flavorful and we found the grilled oysters delightful. The terribly bland, unseasoned crab cakes, however, were a complete disappointment. These, we later determined, may have been pulled frozen from a bag and then fried. Clearly, the outdoor lunch experience at this restaurant is designed for unaware tourists and/or those riding the ferry. Perhaps, however, one can expect an attentive host and servers, as well as actual dishes and silverware, crab cakes that are freshly prepared, and a side salad that is something more than cut lettuce with a few croutons, on Friday’s Crabhouse dinner menu?

We arrived just prior to opening and the top deck bartender was so accommodating and let us enter early. We loved the steamed clams and fish sandwich which were delicious. I’d skip the fish tacos - nothing special and a bit skimpy on the fish quantity.

Arrived for an early dinner. Went upstairs for the view and instructed to order at the bar. Ordered for my wife and myself. While ordering drinks she remembered the Dungeness crab was sold out. I chose another entree. When they brought the food they did not bring my wife's food. When I asked the mgr.about it the girl said she told me it was sold out also. She lied to cover herself. Why would I just order one entree after first wanting two? I understand mistakes, but to lie about it and then expect me to wait to reorder for my wife while mine gets cold is not good form. There are plenty of other restaurants on the island that are not crap shoots. Avoid this one.

We got something to eat here as we waited for our ferry. You order and pay for the food then they bring it to you. They have both inside and outside dinning. We all had the captains platter, which had fried scallops, fish, shrimp and calamari on it plus fries and a taste of coleslaw. It was edible but not glorious. We sat outside and were dive bombed by black flies. The staff took our order but cam back and did they were out of snapper so we got haddock. It was ok. There are better places to dine.

For a really unusual lunch date, jump onto the Anacortes-Friday Harbor Ferry...no reservation needed...and take the one hour trip to Friday Harbor. Right at the ferry dock is the Friday Crabhouse. Perfect location, multi-level seating, excellent seafood options and terrific service. Jump back on the ferry to return to mainland.

This place looks very festive and lively as you get off the ferry. You basically pick a place to sit and place your order at the bar. They then bring your food out and call your name to find you. The person at the bar taking orders was a bit crabby, but the person who brought the order out was friendly. My wife and I got the fish and chips which were surprisingly good. Not overcooked and flavorful. What's nice is this place is pet friendly and we could have our dog with us on the patio.

Very cool atmosphere and we were able to eat outside and look over the water. However for the price of the food it was not good. My friend got her food way before I did and she was done eating by the time I got my food. Very overpriced for what you get.

Loved the rooftop deck, was very happy kids were allowed up top. The three level setup was pretty interesting. The BBQ oysters (quite good btw) went on the grill at the lowest level. The rest of the food comes from Level 2 (kind of smokey for our taste) and the drinks from Level 3. The servers definitely get their steps in. Likely goes without saying but work the fresh catch menu as much as you're willing. Only disappointment was they'd run out of Dungeness. Not a huge surprise in August. Common problem around the island during our visit.

This is the best value, best food, best view, and kindest staff in Friday Harbor. We had a large group that no other restaurants would accomodate. Friday's Crabhouse not only accomodated us, but made us feel so welcome we met there for all our meals. They have a nice view of the harbor, indoor and outdoor seating, great food, fast service, and kind staff. Dogs are even allowed to sit next to one's table.

Came to this restaurant at the advice of a local. Sat upstairs outside except you can’t order upstairs, you have to go downstairs. Needed napkins, they didn’t have any and the girl behind the bar could barely stop vaping long enough to get us some paper towels. Food was mediocre at best. The Fish n Chips weren’t that crispy. No one brought us refills on water. we were left on our own.

I couldn't decide between the fresh-caught wild salmon or the fresh-caught wild red snapper. Our server said she liked the wild red snapper. She was right! Absolutely delicious! Decent prices, too.
