We visited this Belgian bistro during Restaurant Week (Culinaria) in San Antonio. It is casual and low key. The menu and ambiance are like a French bistro. Two of us had Belgian beer and I had Veuve Cliquot available by the glass. The 3 of us shared a seared foie gras appetizer and it was delicious. I had a summer... More

I found out about this place through a coworker. It is definitely a hidden gem and is my favorite restaurant in San Antonio. Every dish I've had here has exceeded my expectations. The beer and wine selection is wonderful.

The mussels were chock full of sand--so disappointing that they've hired cooks who can't clean the shellfish. The other dish ordered (crepe) was just so-so. It's named "Belgian bistro" but is actually all over the board: Italian pasta dishes, French food and, sadly, their "sole meuniere" is flounder, not sole. Their servers are wonderful, but that's about the only wonderful... More

Stopped by La Frite the other week to get some grub! The place had a very quaint ambiance to it, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. For starters we got some escargot, sarte a l ogion and pesto mussels. For the main course we had the duck breast and the hanger steak. All the items were plated and... More

We ordered the escargot, then salads. Fried lobster, vegetables, fries, steak tartar. The good: The salads were good. The prices were not as precious as most over charging mediocre French restaurants in San Antonio. We were slightly early for our 6 pm reservation (they open at 6) and they seated us 5-10 minutes early. The Bad: The lobster was overcooked... More

This restaurant is in the old town and serves some very good food. We tried the mussels with mariniere sauce. Excellent. Several fine beers go well in the hot weather. Service was very good too.

The atmosphere and home feel environment is a bonus... If you want authentic food, this is the place. The staff will always make suggestions as to dishes and wines to enhance your dish. The fries, crepes, mussels and THE BREAST OF DUCK.....must try! Melt in your mouth goodness! This has been added to our must eat at list when we... More

Excellent food and service ! A small close together crowded but worth it . The portions are huge and can be shared . Good wines! The best and largest portion of foie gras I have ever been served on a Belgian waffle with a cherry basalmic reduction . Rich and delicious !

This restaurant is in old town and has excellent Belgian food --- reminded me of a small Belgian Cafe in Brussels. Great beer and good service, priced moderately. and good extensive menu .This time I went for lunch and the menu was varied and I had a hard time deciding what to get -- I ended up with a delicious... Four courses of our own choosing (although there was an inviting 3-course prix fixe option too). We began with perfectly seared foie gras served on waffle. Next a beautiful Belgian endive salad perfectly dressed and seasoned. On to mussels (we chose the mariniere and basque sauces) with frites that were crisp from start to finish. Finally, a Belgian chocolate mousse.... More
