Not the usual

Anyone who has been to San Antonio knows that there are a lot of dining options. Finding a place that sets itself apart is unusual. La Frite does just that. When I travel, I try to seek out tapas places as I like a variety and quality over quantity. I found one, but it seemed a little... read more

Bottle of Champagne to celebrate my husband's birthday then on to some wonderful food. The Crepe with fresh crab was delicious and will definitely go back for more. Then my husband and I shared the Fried Lobster and I had the Beef tenderloin both were outstanding. La Frite also offers daily specials which we will definitely go back and try.... More

We tried many different dishes and they were all good. The escargot was good but not great by Belgian standards, but the moule wAs great as expected

Special lunch menu for Restaurant Week included mussels, trout almondine or lamb steak, and chocolate mousse for $15. All in our party had mussels rather than salad, and we tried both entrees mentioned (there were other choices) and all had mousse. We all moaned with delight at every course, and vowed we will be back for the entree-size portion of... More

My wife and I had lunch here last Friday. This is a cute little store front cafe in the op and coming Southtown area of San Antonio just south of downtown. The ambiance is European and the waitstaff attentive. I had the mussels and they were outstanding. One of the others had a white fish lunch special that he said... More

This little bistro had such curb appeal - we were looking for a nice dinner spot and this restaurant caught our eye. So quaint and charming and the staff is so friendly and helpful. They have a Prix Fixe menu that changes nightly. I love mussels, so their regular menu caught my eye - the mussels are FANTASTIC here!! They... More

A charming bistro that knows how to handle a crowd. We arrived for our reservation at 8:00 and clearly, being Saturday, they were swamped. The host apologized and invited us to wait in the bar "for two minutes". Before we could even order a drink he came back, apologize again and showed us to our table. Our waiter was courteous... LOVE this place. Extraordinary food and spectacular service. The crepes, the mussels &, of course, la frites, are all memorable. If any oneof those items is on your list of favorite things, then this place is a must while you are in San Antonio.

Nice small place just a bit away from the high tourist area. We had mussels in 2 different sauces and both were excellent - tender, well seasoned and well cooked. The chicken vol au vent was also quite good. The frites were nothing special. Service was good and prices reasonable

This restaurant was excellent. The Thai mussels were a hit as well as the recommended wine pairing. The frites are hand cut, double blanched and double fried. Amazing dining experience. Foodie heaven.
