Restaurant consistently has food that is fresh, hot and with great flavor. Staff is courteous and always willing to accommodate.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. Whenever, I am in San Antonio, I get takeout to take home to Kerrville. My last visit was last week and I honestly know know that I will go back. I can do better with...a jar of sauce and my own protein. What a shame.More

I ate here yesterday and I must say, I was disappointed. Their food tastes microwaved and cheap. Their paneer is was soggy and their chicken Tikka masala tasted like canned tomato juice. Not authentic at all.

For a fast food restaurant, the food is very good. Prices are reasonable and there is a decent selection of dishes. Since it is fast food, dishes can not be tailored to a persons taste because they are premade, this makes the food miss the...Homemade flavors and quality.More

At first this looks like a gentrified restaurant with no Indians on the staff. The food was very delicious and the venue was very clean . I went here 2 days in a row.

If you like Indian food do not eat here! I ordered the lamb and chicken kabob. I have no idea what the “lamb” was but it wasn’t lamb. It was bland and flavorless and so was the chicken. My husband ordered the tikka masala, it...was just ok. The naan was a dry pita- NOT Naan, and the rice tasted like it was warmed up from yesterday- overall tasteless and that is never a word that should be associated with Indian food! Save your money and go to a real Indian place!More

First time visit recommended by friends. I tried three dishes: Korma, coconut curry with lamb and lamb kabob. Of the three I prefer the coconut curry with lamb and basmati rice. The korma was fine but a little sweet for my taste buds maybe if...I order it spicy hot it may be better for me. I will be back to try other dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The place was clean and noise level was not loud so I could enjoy conversation with friends.More

Nothing was bad, nothing was great. Forgettable. Fast food atmosphere. Definitely a place for takeout.

I gave Tarka 5 stars. It's not a 5 star restaurant, but is 5 stars for what it is...fast/casual Indian food that's delicious and reasonably priced. I always order for pick up, but the interior is very clean and modern. Even when dining in, you...order at the counter, then take a number and someone brings your food out. I like this style because I would feel comfortable getting a quick meal here by myself whereas most Indian restaurants require more of a time investment and are better enjoyed with other people. The samosas and pakoras are tasty appetizers and great to split with someone else. The naan is also very good. The entree choices may not seem very extensive at first, but you can basically order whatever protein you want with whatever sauce/preparation style you like. If you're not that familiar with Indian food, start with something like the butter chicken. The curries, Biryanis, vindaloo, etc are full of flavor and fresh. The last time I picked up dinner for two, the price was so reasonable, I thought they forgot to charge me for something. Nope!More

Our group of four had four different meals and all four of us were very happy. The menu has a good selection of authentic Indian dishes and the prices are reasonable. You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. Recommend!
