We had the Sunday brunch here and were so impressed with everything! The food variety was endless, from a gourmet omelet chef, to all kinds of pasta salads, eggs Benedict, fruit, bagels, biscuits...EVERYTHING! Our waiter was very attentive and kept our beverages full. The atmosphere...More

My wife and I went to this restaurant because of its physical charm and good Trip Advisor reviews. Our experience was not good. We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was deserted. There were folks at only four other tables which should have...More

The food was very good and the service was friendly. And, of course, since we were staying in the Menger Hotel, you could not ask for a more convenient location! We highly recommend this restaurant.

The food salad was great. The pasta was okay, a bit under cooked. The recommended peach ice cream was very sweet at first, but less sweet as you finished. The people at our table loved it. Our waiter said that President Bill Clinton ordered gallons...More

We have had brunch here before which is why we decided to book the Menger Hotel and the Colonial Room Restaurant for our family reunion this year. The breakfasts here are great with menu choices and a very good buffet including a Chief cooking omelets...More

This is a typical hotel Sunday brunch. Sliced roast beef, omelettes, etc. They kept running out of the popular items such as eggs benedict and mac & cheese. The desserts were uninspired. I ate mostly cold boiled shrimp, which was good, but not a value...More

My wife & I happen to visit the Meger Hotel the day before Easter to check out Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Rider's story. We saw that the hotel was having a Buffet Dinner on Easter so we went to sign up. They stated that they were...More

Had the buffet lunch here as it was included in our spa package. Buffet wasn't bad, but had a very small selection. 2 soups, one bowl of salad, no toppings to add to the salad, and some cold seafood options, but we don't eat seafood....More

We loved our waitress! She was the best thing about our dining experience. The food was not good at all as far as we were concerned. My mixed veggies were undercooked and the breaded cutlet and gravy was tough. We hear the breakfast buffet is...More

We ate here on our first night in the hotel. The food was OK, nothing too flash really. The restaurant was pretty much empty, and by 9pm we were the only people in there. They have a strange take on baked potato, which they wrap...More

Hello. The Colonial Room does not serve American colonial food. I would categorize the menu as continental cuisine. I imagine the term "colonial" refers to the fact that Texas was colonized by Americans when it was still... More

Description
Built as an addition to the original hotel and later remodeled by San Antonio architect Atlee B. Ayres in 1912, the Colonial Room Restaurant reflects the prevailing neoclassical style of its time. Decades of elaborate balls and parties have been hosted in this room.Among the celebrities who have dined here are Presidents Grant and McKinley, Robert E. Lee, and French actress Sarah Bernhardt. The Colonial Room Restaurant's famous mango ice cream was served at both of President Clinton’s inaugurations. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Colonial Room Restaurant features a fabulous noontime brunch and traditional entrees such as prime rib au jus and lamb shank with linguini. Don't miss the popular Sunday brunch buffet, which tastes even better at a table in the garden courtyard.
