Rosarios was recommended by our tour guide. We found it to be average in terms of Mexican food, but we are from San Diego. My husband is plant based and had a hard time finding something to eat on their menu. Service was not that...great either.More

A friend chose this restaurant as he said it had the best enchiladas. He was right! The energy is great and the staff was attentive and friendly.
We started eating at the original small Rosario's on S. Alamo in about 1990. We then moved on to eat at the larger location a few blocks away, also on S. Alamo across from the Highway Patrol museum. Both of those locations had great service...and delicious, very authentic Tex-Mex food. Their smoky salsa is great! Recently, we ate (for the first time) at the location in north San Antonio on San Pedro. A real disappointment!!! Cheese nachos were OK but the beef fajitas were awful. Clearly, they tasted like they were cooked earlier and sort of warmed up for us. Dry and not much taste. It is sad that this location has the same name as the other locations that have spent decades earning their good name.More
The green enchiladas are great here. You can take your family here and they have great food and it comes out very hot. This place has been around a long time. I used to go and watch the Band play on Friday night for entertainment...and drinks at the one on South Alamo. This one to me is the best. ty for your great food.More
I was in a line by myself waiting to be served or seated or even spoken to...and other than 1 family ordering at the bar- NO ONE did anything other than ignore me. The ordering and paying at the bar took over 15 mins. I...decided to move to the bar area so I could at least order- and I was still ignored. My flight was scheduled to board in 20mins- 18 of them were spent waiting in an empty restaurant with the 1 other couple ordering food at the bar. I left so I would not miss my flight. No food. No water. I’ve never expected the service to be great- but this was tremendously bad service.More
Always good. Love the ceviche, fish tacos and the borracho beans. Cool vibe! The margaritas are fantastic.
Thanks for the awesome review, we appreciate it!
I love this place! It’s not as touristy as the places at the Riverwalk. Their sangria is soooo good and I love it when they have live music. It’s a great place to stop in for drinks and appetizers at the bar or a relaxing...dinner at a table. I highly recommend their pozole and mole enchiladas, soooo delish. Call or inbox them to make a reservation, there is always a wait!! Staff is always very friendly and attentive.More
So glad to hear you enjoy dining with us! Can't wait for you to come back!
Great ceviche and shrimp tacos. Margaritas are the bomb. Charro beans are the best. Everything is good. Great to see that they have reopened post covid.
The salsa and chips started off a superb eating experience. Our waitress was both friendly and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely amazing. We had eaten at a sub par Mexican restaurant the day before and what a difference!! Loved it.
My husband and I travel quite a bit and wanted an authentic Tex-Mex experience while in San Antonio this weekend. We'd both had pretty good experiences in the past and were looking forward to trying this restaurant as our last authentic meal in San Antonio...before returning home. I ordered the chicken mole as I always do when I see it on a menu. Unfortunately, the "chicken" was unrecognizable. The texture was that of something that had been stuck in the back of the freezer way too long, then overcooked in a microwave creating a bizarre transformation... bouncy, fibrous, flavorless and seriously inedible. I couldn't even break it up with prolonged chewing, so I had to request another piece if I was going to eat anything other than the sides that came with the entree. My husband ordered the flautas (one vegetarian and two chicken). When they arrived, they were partially burned (no, not toasted), but he decided to eat them anyway. The contents of the first one (vegetarian) were bland and unremarkable, so he was looking forward to the other two (chicken), hoping for a more flavorful experience, but they all turned out to be vegetarian! Understanding that this happens from time-to-time and assuming it was a miscommunication with the kitchen, he asked that his order be reassembled. The manager quickly came over to our table to advise him that menu items could not be altered, but also apologized for not having been informed at the time he placed his order. He then requested something different -- something consistent with what he ordered (and something that was not burned). When we received the bill, the incorrect order was still included and we assumed this was another oversight. When we pointed this out to our server, he left to speak to the manager about removing it from the bill, but she refused to do so with no explanation. This kind of disappointment, both in food and customer service, is so rare. And despite the manager's admission of error by apology, it seems a bizarre and punitive decision to charge us for their error. Still shaking my head. So to those of you who value a quality experience, be advised!More
I would give Rosario’s a good if TA had a good rating- it’s definitely better than average. While they came highly recommended, I can’t rave about the food, it was good- not special, solid Mexican cuisine. My pork dish was perfectly cooked but the sauce...did not stand out, my wife had the same comment about her enchiladas. The salsa is spectacular and they will bring more chips but the portions are smallish and the chips tend to be broken up. What I will say is BRAVO Rosario’s bartender- tried the top shelf and spiced pineapple marg- both were outstanding, probably the best I’ve had with perfect flavor balance- I’d return just for those. Service was professional but our server tried the smart ass schtick, which we don’t mind, except he couldn’t pull it off. A solid Mexican food evening, we would return.More
The tortilla soup is good, but it would be much better if it was served “hot” instead of just lukewarm. A little less salty would be even better.
Delicious meal for family of 4. We each chose our favorites. I chose the fish tacos and loved it. The beans were different from CA beans. I liked these very much! Will come back when in San Antonio. Very popular. Was there for an early...dinner and had no problem with parking or getting a table.More
The inside is definitely the "lounge' feel. I'm inclined to wonder if it was a nightclub before being restaurant. When you see the inside - you'll see what i mean. There's a bar in the middle and the main floor ? Looks like a dance...floor. Even walking in, it felt like a nightclub. It didn't bother me- it was something to note the way it's built and set up inside. You get chips and salsa - salsa was pretty good. i had the Enchiladas Queso - 3 small enchiladas with cheese. Side of beans and rice. Simple. It was all i wanted and it was fine. There was nothing extraordinary about it - it was exactly as it was described. So....it was ok. Not bad, but again, not spectacular. I think if there's a next time, I'll try something different to get a feel on it. But I did see quite a few dishes around me with other tables that looked great. The price was affordable and I had no complaints, but also, no accolades. It's something to experience and check out. Now, this location - parking is not ideal. Another sign it was a nightclub is that in the front of the bldg - there's maybe....6 parking slots at most with a drive up drop off driveway. The rest would be along the side (in a strange oblong type formation) or in the back. But from what I could see, there wasn't too many spaces for as big as this restaurant bldg is. I'd try it again just to give it another shot.More
Went here for dinner with friends off a recommendation. Food was okay nothing special. Took quite awhile to get the drinks to us after we ordered. We just had beer but drinks pretty much showed up with the dinner. The salsa that comes with the...chips was at the best part.More
