The restaurant looked inviting so I stopped in for a glass of wine and a salad. The server wasn't very attentive and it took a while for the wine to be delivered even though I was seated close to the bar. Service was generally slow although the restaurant wasn't crowded. The salad came with strips of steak which were delicious... More

In our trip to the riverwalk this week we have been to the Lone Star 3 times. We had the Buda Buffalo Burger, Brisket Sandwich, LaGrange Chicken Breast and the Leon Springs BBQ combo. The Brisket Sandwich was a little bit greasy but the other 3 were a bit above average. The second visit involved a liquid diet and we... More

Noisy busy place. Staff was efficient but pretty disengaged. Beer very cold. Food very basic and average ( brisket and pork sandwiches). Overlooked river and the madness that is a saturday night. This was our last option as there arent really any superb options in this area. Lots of chains. They had 2 bar stools open so we took them.... More

If you read my reviews, you will see that I usually try to find something positive to say. Sadly, there was nothing positive about this experience. We went on a Thursday night. It was crowded and there was a wait, but we were seated in a reasonable amount of time. French fries were old-- hours old! (Think fast food fries... More

We ate here while visiting the river walk and were not impressed. You pay extra for the location but we were seated inside right next to the waitressing station. Not very scenic...plus it was hot. The Sirloin steak salad was sad. The steak was cooked well but the salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and a few tomatoes. The chicken fried... More

On my second day in San Antonio's fame River Walk, we decide to get grub with a view of the river. We wanted something Texan so the Lone Star Cafe caught out attention. The Lone Star is on the second level of the River Walk, so we satisfied with our balcony seating giving us a nice view of the walk... More

We visited and sat on the deck overlooking the river walk. It was a great location for a birds eye view of the river walk. Unfortunately The food was not great. My chicken fried chicken was rubbery but had a nice fry on it. The mashed potatoes were yummy and the best thing on the plate.

Upstairs restaurant overlooking the river walk. Best if you can get a seat on patio if the weather is good. Excellent bacon wrapped filet. Very tender and tasty. Service is better than a lot of places. Usually no wait but very busy. Inside is not bad either. Can sit at bar on the end if wanted. All the steaks are... More
