Awesome Mexican bakery and food. Mariachis are a plus on weekends. Family oriented dining. Superb Margaritas and Chiladas.

We absolutely fell in love with this restaurant! The Atmosphere was beautiful, warm, and happy! The energy in there was so much fun. The bakery counter was filled with desserts too beautiful and yummy looking to resist! I had a mint mojito at dinner that...was the best, and all of the food we ordered was delicious. The server was so kind and friendly, and even took us on a tour of this beautiful restaurant. Mi Tierra Cafe and Bakery is a Diamond among the Gems in that mall, and a stand out in San Antonio. It is an experience we won't forget. We hope to go back someday!!More

I was disappointed with the Cafe, but the Bakery is awesome! The Cafe was not that busy when we arrived and we were seated quickly. However, our waitress did NOT spend much time with us. We waited to be greeted, waited to place our order,...and waited to get our ticket when we had finished eating. The waitress never checked on us after delivering the food. Also, the food was somewhat bland. Mariachi singers were roaming the dining room, but they charged to play a song rather than accepting tips. Overall very touristy, high prices for the food and drink we ordered, and not great food. A visit to the bakery afterwards was excellent. We were waited on immediately and the person helping us was fantastic! The treats were very tasty and we enjoyed them immensely. I would highly recommend the bakery but skip the Cafe.More

I did a Grayline tour and the driver dropped us here for lunch. The food was good, I've had better. The service was ok - I'm a heavy water drinker, asked for two glasses, received one. Overall a little slow. Cordial, not overly friendly. A...consider $17 for a lunch meal a little priceyMore

This is the place for authentic Mexican food in San Antonio. Old time and great atmosphere, best margaritas in Texas, extensive menu and reasonably priced. Worth the stroll over from the Riverwalk and away from the tourist places.

This visit we went for breakfast. I really appreciated that I could buy some bread at the counter and then order scrambled eggs at the table to go with my bread. This amount was fine for me. Of course, there is always the abundantly good...and tempting combination plates that my companions eagerly ordered.More

Enjoyed an excellent breakfast with my colleagues. Mi Tierra’s chorizo was one of the best I’ve had. Just the right amount of spiciness and not too greasy. The others at my table enjoyed fajitas for two. They commented on the rich flavors and nice presentation....Festive atmosphere and good service made for a pleasant experience. Highly recommend.More

This is the best Mexican restaurant. The enchiladas are flavorful and delicious. The strawberry daiquiri's are strong. Everything served here is delicious. Our waiter gave us extra chips and salsa to take with us. The mariachi band is excellent. They will play at your table...for $20.00. It is very romantic. Be certain to get pastries at the bakery. The pecan pralines are one of my husband's favorites. I like The Concha. This is essentially a crumb cake. The sugar in top comes in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry and is delicious with a cup of tea the next morning. Get the larger ones as they are fresher. They individually wrap all the pastries.More

We wish we bought more conchas. There was a line outside the cafe that moved fast and it was worth it! The food was fresh and we wish we brought more home.

I have been visiting San Antonio from Austin for about 50 years and have almost always eaten at Ti Tierra. Early on, I parked on the street separating it from the market across from it. When the street was removed, I parked in the small...lot behind the restaurant. Returning yesterday, my GPS couldn't direct me to the restaurant because of all of the blocked roads, and what is now a one way-street prevented from reaching the small parking lot. I paid $10 for the privilege of parking in the Goodwill lot and was not in a cheerful mood when we walked to the restaurant. While my son and I were waiting in the bar for our table we received draft Mexican beer in frozen schooners and the restaurant began to transform itself into the Mi Tierra of old. I ordered the standard Mexican plate and son got the poblano pepper plate. The service was excellent and the ambience of the colorful restaurant was better than ever.More
