When the Chapas owned this place, they were onsite and working at all times - the restaurant was super clean and the food hot and delicious. A young couple bought it and they were on site at first. Haven’t seen them here in a couple...of years. Today the restaurant is usually not too clean. Tables dirty, salsa is usually toppled over, bathrooms feel and smell dirty. I still come here because it’s still very good, but the quality and cleanliness is not what it used to be. The person taking orders and money also hands you your drink cup, which they always grab by the lip with dirty hands.More

Just stopped in for a Puffy Beef Taco dinner. They still rock and hit the spot when that's what you crave!

First stop after landing in SA! Teka Molino hit the spot and satisfied my Tex Mex craving. Hubby and I shared the Big Teka plate which includes 2 cheese enchiladas, 2 puffy tacos, rice, beans and choice of flour or corn tortillas for $14.99. Enchiladas...are the best and the price is very reasonable. Be sure to get a basket of tortilla chips and salsa at the counter after you order and pay.More

We got a little bit of everything to try. The Picadillo roll was nothing special and kind of bland to us but the carne guisada was absolutely amazing. The cheese enchiladas were good too. Fast, friendly service.

Started going to the OLD Teka's south of Trinity University in 1972 ... been enjoying their food and service ever since. My kids ate lunch at the Teka''s on San Pedro all their life virtually every Saturday. In recent months that location was showing signs...of age but just very recently James Chapa (Mr Chapa's grandson) has remodeled and refurbished the inside. It's back to the same quality and service (and cleanliness) Mr & Mrs Chapa would be proud of . Well done James! If you haven't been there (or not recently) you owe yourself a treat! Some of the best TexMex in San Antonio and that is saying something!More

Recommended by a celeb chef as her go to Tex/Mex place, we tried it out. Wow. Really good and really inexpensive and it turns out its been around forever. There is a photo from 1937! We tried the combo plates 18, 19, 20, each one...called Teka something. Too much food but we ate it all. Puffy tacos, a revelation. We'll be back.More

Never disappointed in this place, as I discovered it last year and hit it whenever I can. The combo plates are the best, try #20 for a taste of everything. Puffy tacos and the guacamole cup are to die for. Don’t miss this hole in...the wall!!!More
