Stopped at Rosario’s on the way from Corpus Christi to San Antonio Airport. Had a great lunch beginning with prickly pear margaritas all around. I had enchiladas de mole. Delicious. My daughters had different items but said they were quite good. Place is old and has a certain “patina” that comes with age and the confidence that your food will do the talking for the restaurant. Service was good, prices quite reasonable I love the different flavor profiles in Mexican cuisine around the country. This was very enjoyable

We had a great meal here, my husband had some enchiladas I had the chicken, and asked if it had some heat, the waiter said no, but that it's very flavorful. He did have the cook add a whole sliced blackened jalapeno, it really made it even better! It was really juicy and flavorful. They didn't disappoint.

Went here once for lunch takeout and once for dine-in dinner. Both meals were delicious and interesting. I enjoyed the enchiladas. Service was also great. I asked about the chilis and a server brought me different chilis and told me about them. I learned something about local cuisine. We also enjoyed sitting after dinner and enjoying dessert and a drink.

We were recommended to this place by locals who raved about it. We thought it was very average. Dining room was super noisy, could barely have a conversation were we sat. Another location may have been quieter. We shared two different plates Enchilada Mexicanas and Tacos Nortenos, both very mediocre. Large guacamole was $10, however very deceptive as the bottom half of the bowl was filled with shredded lettuce. I don’t mind paying for good guacamole but this didn’t have much flavor. Chips had no salt, were cold, and not very tasty. On a positive note, they had some pretty good live music playing and my top shelf margarita went down very well.

The food was the par, the fajitas were over seasoned on the beef and underseasoned on the chicken. The tortilla soup was okay and left them feeling really hungry. Tasting just average at the same time. The rice was average. All the items felt overpriced for the actual portion you received. It was $18 for half a pound of chicken fajitas and all it came was with a small cup of charro beans. My partner had the chicken with the cilantro and like lime sauce on it and it was barely edible. When you could go to Mama Margie's and get it for $23 for a full pound of chicken fajita and actually get rice beans guacamole with that. That can feed three people. So definitely skip this I'm a native of San Antonio and there's so much more options when it comes to Mexican food that is actually good and you will not go home hungry because here you probably will want to snack afterwards after spending 15 to $20 per person.

The fact that the restaurant is always packed speaks to the popularity. Chicken nachos are my favorite. I’d give 5 stars for the food, but service is not always the best and parking is difficult. A friend refuses to go there because a waiter was very rude to her elderly mother.

I ordered guacamole because how could you go wrong. This was SO wrong. It was mashed up avocados with a little salt and lime. No cilantro no onions. Plain. It was served in a small bowl that was full of lettuce with a little scoop of avocado on top. Disappointing. The only thing good about our visit were the chippendale looking waiter.

My wife and I stopped by Rosario's early afternoon in between sightseeing stops. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. Margaritas were happy hour cheap and good. Salsa was brown and smoky with the right amount of heat, not the ketchupy fare you normally get. Our waiter put us onto the Cascabel Tacos, and I cannot recommend this dish enough-pork was very tender, and the sauce was like nothing I have ever had before. Would have stayed the whole afternoon, but the Alamo was beckoning.

First, it’s the end of June and the are still operating off a limited menu. Every other place we’ve been to has returned to full menus by now. Second, they estimated a 30 minute wait to be seated that was actually a 75 minute wait.

VERY disappointed that we wasted one of our few meals in San Antonio at Rosario’s! After waiting an hour for a table, we were seated at one of the worst tables - in the back room by the bathroom hallway. Absolutely NO ambiance! Our waiter started off good, but never checked back after delivering our food. My fajitas did not arrive “sizzling” and had very few peppers and onions. My daughter’s flautas were truly tasteless. I rarely complain to management, but I was so disappointed that I waited for over 10 minutes and no manager came to speak to me. For the life of me, I can’t understand how this place is rated so high: bad ambiance, bad service, bad food. The best part about Rosario’s is that Gus’s fried chicken is across the street - my daughter enjoyed their chicken much more!

We visited Rosario's on our last trip to San Antonio and this is definitely a place that we would visit every time we come to the area. The restaurant is quite large and can fit a ton of people, so it's a good place for larger groups. The complimentary chips and salsa was much better than other places we've visited and the roasted tomatillo salsa was absolutely amazing. The guac was also great, but the star of the show was the carne asada tacos as well as the prickly pear margaritas. The food was fantastic from top to bottom and this is one place that we're definitely going to come back to visit!

I live within a 10 minute walk of Rosario's and other great restaurant choices but tend to come here when I start craving traditional Tex/Mex food. They have an extensive menu and close to the best Margaritas and Chips and Salsa in San Antonio. Easy to get to if you are a tourist staying downtown but crowded with locals that eat here regularly.

Most of the time, this restaurant is excellent and surprisingly affordable. However, a few times, including my last visit in June, dishes were underwhelming. This was especially so for the shrimp tacos I ordered. The supposedly “Gulf Shrimp” was more like tiny shrimp in a slimy sauce coming from a can or something, not the exceptional real shrimp I had in May. Don’t know how a chef could actually serve this! No lettuce, salsa, or avocado can camouflage that poor excuse for fresh shrimp. Don’t order shrimp until you ask specific questions regarding its freshness, or better yet, order something else. Homemade salsa was delicious as always.

Went to Rosario's last night for dinner. Had about a ten minute wait a 6:00pm to get in. We ordered the Queso and it was very good. We ate it all. I followed that with the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo which is Gulf shrimp, marinated in garlic lime butter, grilled with onions & bell peppers. Served with poblano rice. It came with hot tortillas and a side of guacamole and pico de gallo. I ate almost everything, but wanted to save room for their chocolate flan. All the food was hot and tasty. Tables were spaced well and wiped down as soon as they were vacated. The wait staff all wore masks. I would eat here again.

If your looking for a good Mexican restaurant and in a place that you don’t have to scream at your date from across the table to be heard, go else where. The acoustics at this restaurant are horrible, hands down the loudest restaurant I’ve ever been to. As far as the food goes, it’s average “Mexican foo foo” food. The food in definitely pricey for what you get, Our waiter could have been more attentive; we ran out of both are bar drinks and are water before he ever made it back to our table to check on us.
