Stumbled upon this without much TA research as we needed a quick brunch. It’s OK, nothing really special but not bad either. I had the Huevos Rancheros which was decent, my wife had the Torta Desayuno (eggs and bacon, etc), it was fine. The side of green chile was good and necessary. The horchata was watered down, not so great. So yeah, kind of average to a bit above average for inexpensive and fast Mexican food. You can do better, you can certainly do worse.

Went to Fiesta week and feasted on BBQ, Tex-Mex and Mexican food from a variety of restaurants all across town. That said, Regio Café is the only place we had to go back for more!
Gorditas are amazing! Barbaccoa tacos, rice, beans, and Mexican coca cola were all demanding a second visit. We were there for lunch on Wednesday and had to return Friday morning for breakfast.
Little place has a lot to offer. Live music on Friday am, excellent service, fun, incredible eats and the nicest servers ever.

Restaurant should know they're just as much in the service industry as they are food.
Short waitress with blonde streaks is not short on attitude. With her you wait forever to be "waited" on once food is served. Then after waiting way too long, you must flag her down. But, now she makes sure you know you'll need to wait as she is not about to "wait" on you just then as she still has other priorities other than you - like she's trying to train win a power struggle and prove she's the boss. Of course this after you've already waited have for far too long from someone who doesn't understand what the word WAITress means.
Also, menus prices don't always match what you're charged. There are no morning specials and basic huevos rancheros without meat is way over priced. I like a good hearty meat taco but NONE of their meat tacos are good. The Asada is way too thinly sliced pieces of meat, that have no flavor and tasteless other than old. They need to serve fresh meat, well seasoned, properly cooked and different cut!!!

Great breakfast tacos and chilaquiles! Kinda weak coffee like my grandma used to make (Folgers or Yuban I'm guessing) which is more than fine by me. This place is a must for a Tex-Mex San Antonio breakfast experience!

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this little out of the way cafe is the place. It looks a little rough from the outside, but very clean (including the bathrooms) & the staff was very friendly. We had the Chiliquiles - our favorite and a true Mexican breakfast. It is easy access off the freeway, near downtown - just use your GPS!

This place is a hole in the wall, but a "golden nugget" of a hole in the wall. I had their bean and cheese taco and bacon and egg taco. Both were scrumptious. I believe that you can tell if a Mexican restaurant is good by the taste of their beans; and the beans were great. Fresh homemade tortillas. Place is clean; restrooms too. Staff is courteous and friendly. I will be back to try their lunch menu; I hear their enchiladas are to die for. Hours: 6am - 3pm; Mon - Sat. They take all credit cards. Buen provecho!

The tables and chairs are wobbly, the delivery of the dishes is sometimes separated by five minutes among patrons at a table, but the food is the least greasy, most well prepared Tex Mex I've ever had and it's excellent. Flavorful, not too spicy, best green enchiladas, best enchiladas, definitely the fluffiest Mexican rice ever, and puffy sopapillas to finish it all off with.
Not the cheapest, by far not the most expensive, neighborhood restaurant that is a notch above the rest.
