I was attending a conference across the street and decided to give Alamo a try. I might have visited on an off day, but there was a strong odor of BO in the main area. I am not sure where it came from. I will give them the benefit of the doubt in that one. The service was good and... More

Our favorite restaurant of all times. They serve the best Mexican food and chicken fried steak you've ever eaten. For starters, they not only bring chips and salsa to the table but they also bring fresh homemade flour tortillas and butter. I could make a meal out of them and not order anything else but then I would miss all... More

Everything was real good plus the time with the grand kids was awesome. This place seems to have it all for any group.

We eat at one of the Alamo Cafe's every time we visit San Antonio. It doesn't matter what you eat - their food tastes like coming home :)

Alamo Cafe has always been one of my favorites, but I felt the need to review after today's visit. First, their tortillas are still amazing! I wanted to take about 10 more home! Secondly, I was disappointed in the food this time. The beans tasted like they came straight from a can - very bland, no flavor. The rice was... More

We were looking for a place to go out to eat that wasn't a national chain. Found this place, the reviews were mixed so we decided to give it a try. We came in and we're seated rather quickly for a table of 7. Our waiter was nice and friendly. His name is Matt highly recommend him. He was very... More

Really wanted to like this place, but didn't. I ordered the puffy beef tacos and they dripped with oil and they had very little meat. My husband got tamales and they were average tasting and very small. The salsa was bland. Way pricey for what it was. I will say the service was friendly and quick. But that doesn't make... More
