Stayed in San Antonio for a convention and was looking for some homemade comfort food. Was absolutely blown away with the kindness of the staff and taste, quality and price of the food! BEST ROOTBEER IN TOWN!!!!!!! This is a MUST STOP for breakfast and lunch and see for yourself!

We went here for breakfast. The potato pancakes were excellent as were the bacon and eggs. They also had pancakes and french toast on the breakfast menu in addition to the eggs. It's an old style diner and we were sorry that they were not open on Sundays

Our Uber driver recommended this local deli to us so we tried it for lunch. We liked it so much we went back for lunch later in the week. Great selection of authentic German favorites and reasonably priced daily specials. Really good potato pancakes. Homemade root beer! Large portions, good service and good prices. Well worth the visit.

Visited Schilo's a few times whilst at a conference in San Antonio. a good place for breakfast - it certainly had some character. Lunch (salad) was good, but service much slower.

Good lunch time atmosphere, nice decor, service was adequate. I had the chicken salad croissant that was ok, others with me had what they called an average Reuben. Waited 10 minutes for our check. In all fairness it was a full house.

My husband loved the famous root beer from Schilo's. It was a rainy day so we stopped in on our walk back from the market to our hotel. We also had cheesecake and it was very good. The food they were bringing out looked amazing.

I got the Reuben sandwich and it was one of the best I've had. The service was fast and courteous. The atmosphere was nice as well.

Don't miss this deli gem for a great Texas breakfast. Get in early for lunch to avoid the line outside. The club sandwich is a home run, the service is fast and professional. As face paced as the seating was, the front end manager was on the floor helping with everything from customer (complaints) to drying silverware. Staff was Texas... More
