The bread was so fresh and soft. The Reuben was really good. Others in the group had a variety of special with sides.

Wonderful German restaurant surrounded by tex-mex! My husband and I thought this was a little gem in downtown San Antonio. We went for breakfast and lunch. Meals were filling and priced right. Must tries are the pea soup and the root beer! Staff were friendly and attentive.

I have never had a pastrami on rye where the meat was cold and the bread not toasted at any deli--disappointed. Wife's reuben was average and dry --had to add drsg. Choc chip cookie was awesome though.

Mostly a true deli, but sit down service to have lunch. Great pea soup! Great portions as well. We had the pastrami and a chicken sandwich. Both were so big we could not finish them.

Good basic food at low prices. As if time stood still. Breakfast was good, eggs and home fries fresh and filling. Good coffee, and a very homey feel. Great for family meals. Everyone is friendly, waitresses couldn't be nicer. All in all a,good place for breakfast or a quick lunch. Near everything, very accessible.

This is the place for lunch in San Antonio. Old school awesomeness. Lunch was delicious, super cheap, and the service was friendly and attentive. We will return.

This was some of the best breakfast I EVER had! The biscuits where so light and great! The staff was awsome! Very old place that has the original floors. Alot of history here. The jam for the biscuits, wow! The rest of the breakfast was great also. I really wanted to try the cow tongue, but, it was too early.... More

The atmosphere inside is really cool. The food is ok but not as good as they say in other reviews. We were there for breakfast, the bacons were so overcooked, they were tasting a little carbonized. We also got encouraged ( I don't want to say forced...) by the waitress to give more receipt (and she still didn't seem so... More

Ate here twice during my last trip. Good Reuben, good German food overall. Folks in our group tried just about everything on the menu, and everyone enjoyed their food. Price is a little high for a Deli, but worth it. Service was good.

Lunch time and we met in this quaint place that has nostalgia. The root beer was good and very sweet but worth the taste. I had the split pea soup - delicious. Great service and good atmosphere.
