This 99-year-old restaurant has great atmosphere, friendly staff and AWESOME REUBENs on pumpernickel! Highly recommend a visit - just steps off the Riverwalk yet a visit back in time. I didn't try it; however, I understand they make their own root beer on site! Sit back, relax and enjoy the food!

While visiting San Antonio, we were looking for a breakfast location other than IHOP, and we came across Schilo's. Looking at online reviews they seemed to be fairly positive, so we thought we would give it a try. Our experience did not match the online reviews.... our server was very nice, however her section was a little busier than she... More

We had heard really nice things about the breakfast that was served here and stopped in one morning. Very nice meal for a reasonable price. An older building with lots of history!

Went here for lunch and got a delish Ruben sandwich, the home made root beer is a must. My companions all had different meals (bratwurst, potato latkes, pea soup, fried chicken sandwich) and everyone raved about their meals. The seating at lunch was a bit crazy, the hostess just pointed you to a particular table and you waded through the... More

If you like the old world deli comfort food then Schilos is your kind of place. Their specialties are Ruben sandwiches, homemade Split Pea soup, homemade Root Beer, & potato salads. But the menu doesn't stop there. Breakfast & lunches there are fantastic and the price won't break the bank. A good place to eat if you want great food... More

Food was great. Good value prices. Finding parking was a little crazy and the only downside to this joint.

fantastic spot for lunch down by the river walk. I was looking for a more local place and this was it. The patty melt and fries were delicious!

German deli with a lot of character. Stopped off for brunch and had potato pancakes and eggs, really fresh and tasty. Deli sandwich and specials menu looked good too if doing lunch. Service was very friendly, all at a very reasonable price.

Parking downtown can be a hassle, but it is worth it for opportunity to have lunch at Schilos's. Restaurant/deli has been here many many years. Example of San Antonio's German heritage. The homade root beer is yummy----get a pitcher if you are in a group. I love the Reuben sandwich. The special of the day is always a good choice... More
