In any touristy place you always run a greater risk of paying high prices for mediocre food and/or service. Such is the case here. Always lead with the positive, and the only positive is location and outdoor setting. Tiered veranda under large tree canopies attracted us to this establishment. Having said that the stone floor made the table unstable and... More

The Little Rhein Steakhouse is a lovely place to have dinner overlooking the San Antonio Riverwalk and it better be because you're going to pay for it. Typical of most steakhouses, you pay for everything, steak, sides, salads, drinks, etc. (water & bread are free). So it's not unusual for one diner who'd like to have a drink, appetizer, salad,... The restaurant appearance is cozy and elegant, decorated with lovely old pictures on the inside. If you prefer to sit outside by the River Walk (which you can, San Antonio has very low humidity), try to catch one of the front rows towards the left side, you will be able to find a pretty good view of the Riverwalk outdoor... I made reservation for birthday dinner at Little Rhein. The menu is small, but that makes it all the easier to decide on dinner. My ribeye was cooked to perfection and the side of brussel sprouts paired perfectly with the steak. It was a wonderful birthday dinner in a historic setting.

We visited the Little Rhein Steakhouse during our recent visit to the San Antonio Riverwalk from September 14th through the 17th. We were walking past the restaurant at the Riverwalk during the afternoon and decided to make reservations while standing at the displayed menu. We arrived around 7:30pm and chose seating outside over looking the river as well as the... More

This restaurant is rather pricey but the food and service was excellent. It is worth a visit! The building is and old stone building and has great decor. The patio is right on the Riverwalk which provides a nice outdoor setting for dinner and drinks.

The food here is always good. Consistent and pricey. Be prepared to pay a big price for a great steak! The staff has been there for long time and they remember their partons. The history of the building alone is worth the trip

We had dinner with customers while attending a convention. Sat on the patio over looking the river. A little warm for this time of year but nice just the same. Very attentive wait staff. We had an appetizer tray to start that had bacon wrapped quail legs, lump crab stuffed avocado, jumbo boiled shrimp and jalapeno poppers. Next was Salads... More

This is a personal restaurant. Ate there twice on this last visit. Service was exceptional. Food quality is excellent. Enjoyed drinks and wine and I must say that was also very good. M favorite in San Antonio.
