A small and quaint restaurant in the Villita area, which is quite charming. Started with platters of petite appetizers -- quail legs wrapped in bacon (yum), escargot in a puff pasty (yum), salmon tartar, and mushrooms stuffed with a wonderful cheese (yum). The scallops for...More

The Fig Tree surprised me first with its offering of Beef Wellington, which they do very well. However, the escargot basque is truly fantastic, one of the best appetizers I have had in years. Service was quite good, but the location, particularly outdoors was simply...More

We had a business dinner out on the patio and the staff accommodated our party of 14 by turning the long table so we could all fit. Lovely weather. Excellent service and delicious French cuisine. I would happily eat here again.

If you are looking for fine dining to get away from Mexican--- this is a must. Right next to the Hilton at a very scenic Riverwalk location. The Beef Wellington was amazing! Must call for reservation. Highly recommend!

Excellent menu, excellent service. Had guests from out of town and went to Fig Tree. The wait staff had the service down pat and the chef produced meals of outstanding quality. And the view of Riverwalk is as good as the dining!

So we've lived in San Antonio almost 30 years and had never tried the Fig Tree. We went there to celebrate our anniversary last December and were pretty disappointed. Somewhat pretentious, the food was not sufficiently good to overcome the over-stuffiness. Would not go back...More

The Fig Tree is just above the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas. If the weather isn't too hot there is a beautiful terrace to eat on. Everything that we ate was perfect, the service was wonderful, the chef came out to make sure everything...More

As the others have said, yes. It is terraced up the hill from the Riverwalk. Strongly suggest reservations as far in advance as possible if you want to sit outside with the best view.
