We enjoyed the street tacos platter. This gave us an amazing lunch with food pretty much made to order. This is a small place and very friendly is friendly with personalized service. There's plenty of free parking and easy access to major roads.

Was hungry for some San Antonio Mexican food. This place was close and had good ratings. I had the Chilaquiles Rojas plate and my wife had the Chile Relleno plate. The Chile Relleno (cheese) was fabulous. It came with rice (average) and beans (average runny)...and homemade tortilla’s. My plate had eggs, tomato’s, chips, cheese and came with potato’s (small, fried, and greasy) and beans (average and runny) and homemade tortilla’s. The tortilla’s were superb. The best part though was the sopapilla’s. OMG They are to die for. Was in New Orleans a couple days ago and had Cafe Du Mond beignet’s and these were so much better. I’ll go back just for those. Great service and waitress.More
There are probably hundreds of Mexican restaurants in San Antonio. Over the years we have gone to many. This place is close to Ingram Mall and is a great place to go if you want to go where the San Antonio residents like to eat....Here's what to look for: 1. These restaurants usually have northern Mexico, not interior Mexico, foods. You can get cheese on anything and everything. 2. If they don't make their own tortillas go somewhere else. We had left one restaurant before we found this one for this reason. We love San Antonio style corn tortillas because of their thicker, more flexible softer texture. Flour tortillas are always better freshly made and most established Mexican restaurants have them. Los Ajos has both and they are excellent. 3. Cleanliness. Spotless! Overall, highly recommended.More
We visited here after reading the Yelp reviews and we were pleased with our experience. I had flautas and a chicken taco, others at the table had chicken fajitas and a joey something (it's on the menu). We all agreed that the food was fantastic!...We especially loved the tortillas. The meat was seasoned great and even the guacamole was really good. The prices were very reasonable! All three of us had plenty to eat and the check came to $23. You can't beat that these days!More
What makes it so great? Those tacos on corn tortillas: Barbacoa to be specific- with this secret recipe green sauce (it's hot, but oh, my goodness, so delicious)! I pour the stuff on. Everyone likes a little taco with their green sauce, right?
First off you would think a place w a Blue Plate award would offer better food. Our first visit my wife and I ordered Breakfast fajitas plate and dorado plate w eggs and Sausage. The cooking process here involves a microwave just a heads up...to anyone. My fajitas were dry and greasy due to the microwave overcooking them and my wife's over easy eggs were also stuck in the microwave and were not runny but actually dry and bland tasting. Then they don't use Cheddar cheese it's some processed cheese that has No taste. Do not order Tacos to go the greasy food will wet the bag and cause a mess. This place has got to be the worst place for Mexican food in Sa and if you do eat here check your Cholesterol after it may save you .More
I already hooked to that place for breakfast tacos.. I refuse to go another Mexican Restaurant instead.. but the sad part is that they closed on Sunday....
My wife and I went to Los Ajos for breakfast. We ordered a breakfast plate -chorizo con huevos- and breakfast tacos. All was in order although the food on the plate was oily. We have come here before, mostly for breakfast, but can only give...it a mid-range rating. It is OK, it is clean but its food leaves something to be desired.More
Can't believe I haven't written a review about it yet! I have been having lunch here probably about 3 times a week, for about a year! Enchiladas are great, along with their tortillas! Their (from what I have seen during the week) 3 waitresses are...on top of their game! Lunch specials, are truly specials, prices are really fair! Wish the best of luck for them! See Yall this week...More
The food here is amazing. Freshly made daily and reasonably priced. The mole is the best and the service is fantastic. They have a great menu and all food is out in a timely manner. If in SA go here for the best kept secret...around.More
You are probably right, most restaurants lose their shine when they become larger or when they can't handle their customer overflow, and that is the last thing I want this to happen at Los Ajos. But they deserve my kudos for the best Mexican food...quality and excellent service. The restaurant is small and there are occasions when people are waiting for a table but it happens mostly at the lunch rush hour. People are now starting to discover San Antonio's best kept little secret. LOS AJOS!!More
