We wanted a nearby, casual dining location for our large extended family group, consisting of 8 children, for a school night dinner. The children wanted pizza and a few adults were non pork eaters so we selected Amigo's. The service was stellar and patient and...even more wonderful was that they turned the television channel to a Jurassic Park movie during our meal which was quite kind of them. We ordered both regular and Chicago deep dish pizzas and the group enjoyed both styles. A couple of us ordered sub sandwiches which were hearty and filling. Would I return and recommend it to others: absolutely!More

Tried out the deep dish pizza and the chicken tikka pizza both were really good but the winner was the deep dish.

This is a tiny restaurant in a nondescript strip mall. There is not much ambiance and a blaring TV. I went there for lunch yesterday and on a whim ordered a meatball sandwich and iced tea. The sandwich was excellent and very large. It could...easily feed two people. In the past I have had the personal sized pizza and the lasagna, both of which were good. I am so glad I had the meatball sandwich as it was superb. When I paid, the total bill was $5.41! That's less than a meal at most fast food restaurants and so so much better. The only quibble is that once they bring your drink and your meal they never look your way again as in to refill drinks. Not a big problem, I just took my glass up and got a refill. All in all this is a great place for lunch in the South Texas Medical Center.More
