Enjoyed having lunch here. Two of us had the 'Reuben the Reuben' and another the 'Pani Cristo'. Very flavorful. The place is small but well organized. They have a room for groups who may be coming from an event.
Just opened and not busy yet, but with the great food and prices, I am sure it will not take long for San Antonio to discover it. Went with 4 others for lunch. Took a few minutes to look over the extensive soup, salad, sandwiches...and wraps menu before deciding on a Pani Cristo. Great sandwich and loved the honey/blackberry jam on it. The sandwich was a good size and I was full upon finish eating it. The other people were also very satisfied with their choices (all were different). We go for lunch once a month and try to go to new places as often as possible. We then vote to determine if we will make it a place to return to or not. This one got 5 votes to return in the near future. Lunch included chips or a cookie for under $10.More
This is Hearthstone's second location. They offer breakfast and lunch in generous portions. For breakfast choose from pastries, muffins, scones, turnovers, bagels or Danish. For lunch get a warn paninis, salad, soup or wrap. Fresh ingredients make the difference. Chef VandeBerg’s sandwiches appeared on Food...Network’s Americas’s Bread Battle, so he is a little famous. He has received several readr's choice awards since opening his first location in 2006. Try the hot-pressed Turkey Artichoke Panini which comes with a pickle spear and chips or fresh baked cookie. Parking is a little limited. A good breakfast/lunch spot in a quiet center.More
Based our decision to have a meal here from Yelp reviews. Disappointed started when we walked in. We were the only ones there which is never a good sign. I ordered oatmeal from the cashier who went to make it. I did eat it but...would not ask for seconds or repeat this visit.More
This place is average. Not off the charts, not terrible. You won't be disappointed and you won't be wowed. Sandwiches are pretty good. Salads are stuffed so tightly in the little bowl you need forceps to remove the lettuce. Overall just ok.
I had the Bella portobello sandwich, it was very good. It's a great neighborhood cafe-sandwich place. This place gets a A from the health department( food safety)
I do not live close to this place, but when back here again I will come.
I've eaten at both this location and the Hearthstone Express location in the Tri-Point YMCA building, and this is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at for a quick and fresh breakfast or lunch. My go-to breakfast is the croissant sandwich with spinach-artichoke, egg,...and bacon spread. For lunch, I love the chicken tuscanini panini and my husband likes "The Q" sandwich (has chicken and pulled pork BBQ, so not exactly healthy but it is good!). This is also a great place for quick lunch dates with a friend. The staff are always very friendly.More
We just had soup and some sweets. It was very good. We will go back when we ate hungry. The inside of the restaurant was very clean. Their menu had a lot of options. Definitely worth another another visit.
