The beat ketchup and chorizo, or the eggs benedict, and a side of grits is the way to go. We enjoyed two great breakfasts at this restaurant. We didn’t do the buffet and went ahead and ordered from the chef each time, and we weren’t disappointed. Service is attentive and friendly. They serve pepsi products, but you can tell they... More

Hosted two dinners 17-20 people. Appetizers were fresh and different. Wine list extensive. Entrée options fabulous! Very good service

Spent a weekend at the Elian hotel and never had to leave because the food at Sustenio was fantastic! If your in the area, I highly recommend stopping by with your friends and family for the Sunday brunch or a fabulous dinner.

Ate here while staying at the hotel. Although dining alone, my waiter made me feel very comfortable and provided excellent wine suggestions for my meal. Food was outstanding, especially the small tacos (street style) as an appetizer. Also had the fried brussel sprouts which were a hit. Tex-mex style food with a twist!

Went there on a friends recommendation and was incredibly impressed with the service and excellent food while we were there. We even met Chef Herdmen! Such a nice man and could tell he truly loves what he does. I would highly recommend dining here for a nice night out. Will definitely be back!

Another trip to San Antonio does not warrant another review of a restaurant….unless it’s taken a large turn for the worse….or surpassed an expectation you may have had. I’m glad to say, it’s the latter. With the help of OpenTable we visited Sustenio in early August again and I have to tell you, what an amazing evening of food, drink... More

We had the Shrimp Cocktail and Brisket Tacos, and both were superb. Service was attentive and friendly. Only reason for 4 out 5 is the hotel serves Pepsi and not Coke. Which is a deal breaker for me.

Our server was not very personable or attentive. My fork was dirty. It was very slow and only two other tables were in there. My mother and I were also very disappointed in the food. Presentation was beautiful but it just didn't hit the mark on taste. The only good things we had were the tuna ceviche and the oyster... More

The food was good, there no question about that. If the restaurant can fix the front of house issues then I would have no problem giving a higher rating. We arrived early for our reservation. Out table wasn't ready yet there was NO ONE in the dining room. We were seated in the lounge while someone checked on our table... More

A restaurant with a famous chef located in a beautiful Italianate hotel / residential development should rise to the level of five stars, but there were a few things missing to get that rating from me. That doesn’t apply to the food however, which was spectacular. We went on a Tuesday evening. During our dinner there was only one other... More
