I really like this bar. Old school with friendly bartenders and nice atmosphere. Today I had a nice Jack Daniels and an American Coffee. The Coffee was very bad. I didn't drink it. You need to check what happened. As I was living I didn't returned it. Of course I'm going to visit again the Esquire Bar for my beer.... More

I've only come here for drinks with friends and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is very unique and reminds me of a bar you would walk into in the 50's. The service is always good and they have a wide selection of beers. You can enter the restaurant from either the riverwalk side or the street.

Upon learning about the history, I knew we had to visit. We had burgers here for lunch and everyone enjoyed the meal. I had smoked Gouda on my burger and others had Swiss. The spicy carrots on the side were a nice accompaniment. Nice stop on the Riverwalk!

This place can make some great drinks. I haven't had a Pimm's Cup outside of New Orleans, so I was definitely happy to see it. Manhattans are awesome with some fine choices of Rye!

A group of 10 ladies went here for a nice bachelorette party dinner. The service was great - relatively fast to get drinks and food. The menu offers many organic options - a HUGE plus in my eyes. Thank you for that. Also, the food is very tasty! I had the bison burger and would highly recommend. Thanks for a... More

I had a great experience here! It was a beautiful evening, so I selected to sit out on the patio. There was a brief wait, so I had a cocktail at the bar first. It is a really interesting ambiance at the bar. I had a cocktail (En Pointe), which was really well done. It was pretty strong as well.... More

Entrance from the street is directly into the bar and their are stairs from the river walk. There's a big old long bar stretching almost the full length of the room. Great drink menu with lots of options that are top shelf. Food menu is delicious and fun. Katie took care of us quick and easy. Wished we had more... More

The Esquire has been in business since 1933. It has an interesting history. The bar is at least 100 feet long and they serve every imaginable cocktail and beer. The food is great also. They are directly on the Riverwalk and an easy walk from most hotels.

There's more. The Esquire Tavern fronts on a stretch of Commerce Street that has seen better times; its rear balcony overlooks Riverwalk, the network of fake canals teeming with tourists drinking margueritas in go-cups. The room itself is dark, with a battle-scarred bar that may or may not have been in operation since the fall of Prohibition. This may or... More

Four of us had dinner there. The atmosphere was like an old western bar but with well maintained booths bar and tables. Very dark furniture and VERY low level lighting to the point where we had to pull out our iPhones to read the menu. It was fairly crowded and thus service was a bit slow. When the food arrived...
