The best thing is smoked turkey

Solid BBQ close to Fort Sam. During these crazy times I try to support local restaurants even if the dining is not open. This is one of the better BBQ experiences in San Antonio. I decided to try several meats and some sides. The smoked turkey was incredible with a lot of moisture and good smoke. The smoked chicken was good, but not great. Good smoke, but the breast was dry. Pulled pork really disappointed. It wasn't pulled but a bunch of chunks with a lot of fat included. No bark to speak of. Tender and smokey, but they need to go to Memphis to refine their technique. Mac and cheese was good, but nothing spectacular. Collard greens had great taste but way too much salt. If I come back it will be for the turkey.

Lives up to hype! 225 Urban Smoke

Awesome. Cajun food with good ole Texas BBQ. The brisket was moist and tasty. The catfish was fried to perfection with Opelousas sauce it can’t be beat. End your meal with a slice of cheesecake or Beignets.

Amazing food

Absolutely loved their sides (dirty rice and red beans) and the smoked meat (turkey and Brisket) was extremely good. This is a Louisiana / South East Texas styled restaurant. Many Cajun favorites on the menu. I went for the BBQ and was extremely impressed. Can’t wait return and try more items on their menu. Staff is very friendly and restrooms are very clean.

I was hoping the reviews were correct and we are glad we decided to go. There's nothing fancy about the place which we didn't mind, but the food was good! Service was quick and the time after ordering was minimal. Meal #1: Brisket grilled cheese with a side salad and lemonade Meal #2: 3 meat combination (ribs, brisket, sausage), rice and red beans Good Food!

Fantastic BBQ

Took the family here while visiting from out of state. We had a variety of menu items. Great smoke taste and tenderness of the meat (brisket, ribs chicken, & sausage). The sides were well seasoned (red beans, greens, potato salad, fries), mac'n'cheese was good but I've had some of the best elsewhere. The swamp water (Arnold Palmer) was good. The staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely revisit and recommend to others to dine in. (Hit or Miss) A lot of misses around town but this restaurant was a definite HIT!

GOOD BBQ - Recommend you go!

I had the chicken plate with corn and collard greens; tender (fall of the bone) and good smoke favor. Collard greens had great taste but too much salt. I like that you can smell BBQ before entering. I would recommend this place and I'm a picky eater. It's very clean and the staff was friendly.

Excellent brisket, ribs and pulled pork! The three meat platter prices at $16 is a great deal! We had the collards and green beans which were equally delicious! Thank you Daniel for a great meal!

Dan and his staff always have great food and service when i come here when i visit from Odessa ,so if u ever in San Antonio this is a must try place best in SA i have tried alot on the menu and its all been gd!!!

True BBQ with Cajun soul food.

Great food period!!! We started with the pork cracklings (salty & crispy) and capped it off with the beignets. The brisket (good smoke ring), chopped sandwich (chopped to order not left overs), catfish (flaky and flavorful), red beans and rice (true Cajun) were absolutely phenomenal! The pork ribs looked great and so did the pulled pork. Many great options to chose from so come hungry. The owners are two chefs that bring their training and roots to their food. The restaurant was clean, inside & outside seating available and attentive staff. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed our meal and can't wait to go back again! The meat was well seasoned and cook. The sides were scrumptious! The restaurant is an order first then sit down and eat. They bring the food to you. Indoor and outdoor seating. Blues music playing...great vibe and great food!

Went to Urban Smoke and was so pleasantly at how good the food is. We had ribs, cat fish and Brisket. Firesides we had dirty rice, collard greens, Mac and cheese. It was really really good. Can't wait to go back.

Best Take Out

I previously reviewed 225 Urban Smoke, but wanted to say how wonderful the chopped beef was that I had them pack for me to take home to Florida. We opened a pack last night and it was just as good as in the restaurant. Of course. I didn't have their great sides. B jug t the chopped beef. Well, I"m still licking my lips.

Best BBQ in San Antonio

If you’re looking for authentic Texas bbq this is the place. They have everything from smoked brisket, chicken, turkey to delicious sandwiches. The prices are great and the portions are big. I had the smoked chicken with 2 sides, Mac and cheese, potato salad. And for dessert we had fresh beignets. This is a great family run restaurant. Stop by and and try everything, you won’t regret it.
