When I am in town, I will visit here multiple times. Having lived in Thailand, Tao's is the most legit Thai food I've ever had outside of the land of smiles. Do yourself a favor and check this gem out.

Absolutely delicious. We are advocates of Thai cuisine. Have travel and enjoyed many Thai establishments. This one is by far the best in San Antonio, which there are many. Being part Thai, it took me back to Thailand, had the Thai basil dish, but Authentic...thai style. It was heavenly a rousing almost sexual. Thai hot level.. I highly recommend this establishment for the Thai enthusiasts. You will not be disappointed.More

Wanted a change from barbecue, TexMex, steaks and burgers so we went Thai. Great family mom & pop restaurant in a strip mall. Super fresh food made to order. Ordered shrimp summer rolls to start...very good with a nice peanut dipping sauce. The four of...us ordered a variety of different dishes from curry to pad Thai to some hot pot dishes...all delicious. Inexpensive, fresh and spicy as much or as little as you want.More

I live in Thailand, and I'm visiting home for a little while. I've tried Thai food at several places, and while they're really good, this place is this best, and most authentic place I've been to so far on this side of the Pacific. When...you choose your spice level, be careful. They do not use the terms "hot" and "Thai hot" loosely. It's definitely the spiciest Thai food I've had, and that will set this place apart. The owner, Tao, is also very accommodating and friendly, true to the nature of Thailand. 100% recommended by a westerner who made a home out of the beautiful country of Thailand.More

The hot and sour soup that comes with any meal was way too spicy for me to eat. I ordered my dish mild and I would consider it a strong medium. Plus, the soup and Pad Woo Sen had an odd sweetness to it that...I didn’t expect.More

This new restaurant is beautiful and not over run. Although, it wont be long because the food is fresh and very tasty. There are tablecloths, comfortable seats lovely art wooden figures, Freshly painted walls and new light fixtures. The ladies working there are responsive and...kind. I had the tofu Pad Thai lunch special. The hot and sour soup was fresh and good. I liked that it was not salty. The waitress got my order wrong but quickly apologized and returned with the correct order. The cabbage, noodles and tofu were all high quality. You can order the level of spice you like. I ordered medium but had to add some dry Thai chile. The food is actually better than Tongs on Austin Hwy. Go to this place for lunch soon before the secret is out! Really good food and service!More

This place shouldn't be I overlooked just because it's in a strip center: it's legit. The ingredients are very fresh and it is evident in the tastes of their excellent food. Try the fried egg salad -- it's delicious. Green curry was full of flavor....Adding a little fresh basil would have made it perfect. No beer or wine. Content yourself with Jasmin tea.More

Genuine flavors, friendly service. What more could you want. Oh a beer would be nice but there is no bar service. Fried egg salad was amazing. Curry was well seasoned and as spicy as needed. We will return to this pearl in the Medical Center...area.More

This new restaurant just opened near the medical center, and is a hidden gem! It was neat and clean, but most importantly to me, the food was impeccable. At most Thai restaurants, I am underwhelmed by their lack of flavor, lack of spice, (or gratuitous...over-use of pepper) and addition of sugar, but none of these was the case here....the food was fantastic!!! The starters were great too...the satay was perfect, as was the sauce and sides. The papaya salad was crisp, flavorful and packed a punch. The main dishes we had were all different with outstanding spice and flavor, and no added sugar. I asked and they told me that all the sauces and curries were actually made on the premises....nothing was pre-made! Even the deserts were home made and tasty. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nicer than many places, but did still retain a strip mall feeling, but was clearly recently remodeled and was neat and clean. I will definitely come back here often, as I found this place extraordinarily authentic and tasty!More
