The food was good and they were attentive to the ingredients to cater to my allergies (Nuts + dairy).

Food was cold, all precooked (and barely heated up), with very so so service. Waiter walked away while I was talking to him. I asked for an off-menu item (blackened haddock vice menu baked), and they said no problem. I got the lukewarm baked haddock,...which they said "we put some spices in the breadcrumbs". Wife had pasta Bolognese which was like tasteless soup (as if they didn't drain the pasta before plopping the sauce on). I liked the room itself (had a fireplace for those cold nights) but would not recommend it if you are looking for decent food.More

This is a popular restaurant, so consider avoiding rush times. I was staying at the Hawthorne and ate here, as well as using room service, so I became familiar with the menu. This is one of the places in Salem where you can order pumpkin...beer with a cinnamon rim--not my favorite, but have to try it once. Full bar. I loved the seafood chowder and the bread pudding. Prices are typical of a hotel restaurant, so you may wish to order carefully. Everything I had here was excellent.More

We went here Sunday around 1:00 because this place had good reviews. We waited 45 minutes and still no acknowledgment that the food would be out soon. All the tables around us, whose patrons had come in before us, were still waiting for their food....We asked if there was something we could munch on like bread. We were told that would be 20 minutes (for BREAD??). The server said nothing / we left to walk across the street to Olde Main Street Pub because we were hungry.More
