My family of 4 went to Sunday Jazz Brunch. It is a 3 course set menu. $22.95/pp which included non alcoholic drinks. The seafood Benedict and steak and eggs were a $4 up charge The food was not plentiful and the taste was mediocre at best. None of us cleaned our plates. We all tried different main courses so it... We had breakfast here during our stay at the Hawthorne Hotel. This was by far one of the BEST breakfasts I've ever had. The Eggs Benedict were absolutely bewitching. This was my first time having true restaurant quality Eggs Benedict. The sauce was perfect, the Eggs fluffy, and the accompanying home fries were to die for. Our friend's Seafood Benedict... More

Really, how many stars are we supposed to give to a hotel bar that can't even make a Manhattan? After two tries and specific instructions? And despite that insists it's done it right? This place has a good enough location and enough hotel guests that it can coast, and that's what it does. The menu is old and tame, the... More

Dear Josiah56, I am surprised at your review, as we certainly do not coast and take any guest for granted. It is our goal to always exceed everyone's expectations, and that includes someone ordering a traditional rye Manhattan or who comes in to eat from our new menu, which was completely changed last year, and again as recent as a... We had an early dinner at Nathaniel's on Saturday, 10/22. It was the perfect place to kick off our night before going out in the cold drizzle. Despite being busy, the food came out quickly and service was good. The squash bisque was unique and delicious. The lobster quesadilla was more corn than lobster, but still good. My friends enjoyed... More

Both meals were very good. Cozy intimate setting very relaxing atmosphere. Excellent choices on Dinner menu, we chose Salmon, cooked to perfection. Breakfast was "incredible". You had choices from a double sided Menu! Anyone that complains about that is insane. I chose the Fritatta, and it was so good I ate about 3/4 of it before I realized it had... More

Staff was very attentive and friendly and the food was fantastic. I had an omelet and my husband had eggs benedict that is served with salmon on a crab cake. I highly recommend breakfast here.

I had breakfast and dinner here, it was ok. I say this because I had a steak, mind you I am from Nebraska and I should have known better. The steak was alright, not up to the same standards I have from home but still good. My main complaint was the service at breakfast, it took us over an hour... More

We just had brunch at Nathaniel's Sunday Jazz Brunch on a beautiful, warm Sunday in October. We found the service attentive, the food well presented and prepared, and the jazz combo excellent. The Bloody Mary's were among the best we've ever had. I started with the Caesar Salad with Anchovies to start. The romaine lettuce was crisp, the cheese pleasing... More

Beautiful hotel, great experience in Salem. We were looking forward to breakfast at Nat's, a restaurant on the first floor of the Hawthorn Hotel, before hitting the road the next morning. I don't remember not leaving a tip before in my life. I understand bad days, things happening beyond a service person's control. I made an exception at Nat's. First,... More

Dear Morozc, I certainly take every feedback serious, and would like to apologize for not having the breakfast service you expected and deserved. As you can see from almost all of the reviews, our breakfast does earn high marks; however, it is clear that on that particular day we missed the mark. We have indeed looked into your particular situation... More

All five of us had a very good dinner recently here. Service was excellent and wine selections by the glass were good. Pasta, fish, and seafood especially tasty and the teenagers loved the plentiful quesadillas.
