Very disappointed in my cup of clam chowder ordered from their menu in the restaurant. It even stated on the menu that Warning: this chowder is so thick your spoon will stand up by itself. Well, my clam chowder was so watery it was actually a lite soup. I have never seen this before. I asked the waitress about the... More

You walk into this place and you know you've struck gold: farm to table philosophy, home-made food, simple decor...what's not to love? My colleague and I ordered the Elvis: a peanut butter, jelly and bacon sandwich. I just had to try it. I mean, how many menus feature that? Besides, if it bombed, it's not like I live in Salem... After spending a five hr trip to Salem, seeing attractions and a live show, needed a bit to eat to bring back to the room to retire. I ordered a chopped salad that was not chopped and difficult to eat. It was tasty but somewhat bland. Would not go back.

Went for lunch, food was so so, I had brisket, no sauce just hot mustard, it was ok but nothing special. Wife had ham and cheese which is served cold, they don't tell you that. They were busy and did not have enough staff, waitresses seemed overwhelmed and had to beg her for a check. Music was loud which pleased... More

Stopped by on our visit to Salem. Very impressed with the freshness of the food. Like the name says...made from scratch foods. So fresh and so good! I had the BLT. They visit the local farmers markets for vegetables, and cure their own bacon. Very friendly service and good prices too! Stop by when in the area!

Called for lunch on my way back to Boston. Good solid food and great service. I asked the waitress for a recommendation and the Reuben didn't dissapoint. The service was great and friendly.

Ingredients are fresh and local; dishes are inventive and generally tasty, though a few missed the mark for me. If you love bacon, this place is not to be missed; virtually everything contains bacon in some form. Best clam chowder I've ever had, but the bacon dusted fries and bacon dumplings missed the marks for me - very little bacon... More

Nice to have some homemade food when you are traveling....and everything here is homemade even the condiments...nice break from the fast food or processed foods when you are on vacation. Portions are big so you can share prices are fair and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. Worth a visit for sure!!!

Good food for lunch. Could do with A couple more vegetarian options but the pickle salads was great.

This is a great spot for lunch! Everything is made fresh and they use all local produce, meats and cheeses. They smoke the meats on premises, make all their own bread and have a homemade ketchup that I fell in love with!
