we were just arriving in town to visit this beautiful city, but since breakfast at our hotel was the worst we had in years of traveling, this little cafe got our attention cause it was serving a different clientele! Dog BUT they also mentionned having the best coffee in town... well this was quite a pleasant news for us, and... More

Casual dining with outdoor seating right in the heart of Salem. I had the prosciutto crepe which was the perfect savory crepe! Also try their London Fog Latte for just the right about of sweet! Service was wonderful and attentive. A fun place to grab a bite to eat while exploring Salem.

Visited Gulu frequently while living in Salem, it quickly became a great place to have a great cup of coffee while enjoying the interesting local atmosphere, especially during local open mic nights. Food was always flavorful and consistent.

Stopped here twice during our weekend in Salem. Specialty coffees are very, very good and take out if fast. Looks like a cool place to hang out as well as they have bands and a lunch/dinner menu later in the day.

We visited this quirky cafe on Halloween. We were worried we would not be able to get a table however, we managed to get a table with an hour wait. This quickly turned to an hour and a half and then two hours and a half. It was very annoying as the staff were less than helpful and we could... More

This Cafe is nothing special. I got a veggie burger there and it was nothing mind blowing; Burger King has better burgers. They seemed to be out of pretty much anything else we wanted, while we were there, too.

We visited here a few years back on our last trip and had been looking forward to stopping in again on our recent trip. It was just as great. The menu offers some unique dishes and the food is delicious!

Our party of seven stopped for lunch since the neighboring restaurants were crowded. Too early for a beer, we chose an omelet, several bagels and some Czech Goulash. It was well prepared, but not extraordinary. The service was OK, but not stellar. It is a coffee shop, with tattooed and pierced employees abound, so we didn't expect white glove treatment.... More

My friend and I walked in on a Thursday night to try and grab a bite to eat. Walked into a cafe where the music was obnoxiously loud, the lighting was horrid and the waitstaff acted like you were bothering them. When we finally tracked down a server she brought over the menus, threw them onto a dirty table into... More

Dear Wendy B, I am so incredibly disappointed to hear about your experience. We are so much better than this. It sounds like you came in on Thursday, June 30 during our vinyl night. I'm sorry it was too loud -- we continue to work to try the balance of having a lively, fun atmosphere while keeping the volume low... More

I don't know about the afternoons and evenings but I know I had to leave the restaurant today (Wednesday, June 29th) because of the music. We couldn't hear each other speaking. I love music, even hard rock, but not early in the morning. They need to turn it down or change the music. The music is for the customers, not... More

Dear patburns48, I'm so sorry to hear about this, but I appreciate you calling our attention to this matter. You are absolutely right: the music is for our guests, not the staff, although I'm confident the two can overlap. Your review has given me a 3rd party account of the issue, which is often more effective than management nagging our... More
