I was a little worried when my college son selected this restaurant as he had been there the night before and loved it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The place is no frills but the food is quite tasty. We started out with the guacamole...and chips. The guac was average but the chips were homemade and were delicious. The chicken enchillada was crispy on the outside and filled with pinto beans (no black beans) and spicy chicken. My son, who is Mexican Foodie, loved the Buro (which I think us New Englanders refer to as a burrito). My husband said the chicken tacos were delicious but had to order more as they are pretty small. The music was blaring and the mask wearing waitress was barely audible. When we asked her to speak up, she dropped down a few decibels with an annoyed look on her face. I think she ever rolled her eyes. A little rude indeed, but don't let that deter you from some great Mexican Food. I think we are all sick of wearing mask by now!More

Upon my visit to Tucson,we thought me and my family to go and try out this restaurant, which was the biggest mistake that i have made, jas nothing to do with the Mexican culture..the food was extremely awful..the service was very poor.no follow ups from the managers...or whatsoever.it start when the server (coraima)make us get something we didnt order even if we didnt approve we still have to pay for it.the food was blend no flavor cold, the manager notice that me and my family were uncomfortable with the service and the food but he didnt do anything about it.we except only a approche gesture to our table but he didnt,we paid for food we didnt like and above all we were charged tips from the server that we didnt leave on top of the bill...i mean if it means something is that thievery from yhe part of the server and luck of customer service from the manager, which only god knows that he has no idea whats going on under his watch...i guess under qualified managment and bad judge of character..if I had to come back to Tucson again,I would never go back to that restaurant..like I said if you really a family people I would take my business and go somewhere where my family would feel appreciated and treated with respect..More

My wife and I were vacationing in Tucson and were looking for something different than southwestern food for lunch. We did a google search on hot dogs and BK's popped up w solid reviews so off we went to find it. In the spirit of...full disclosure, I grew up in Chicagoland, went to a bunch of White Sox and Cubs games and frequented a number of local hot dog, Italian beef, polish places so naturally, I'm biased to a traditional Chicago dog. Still, my wife and I were curious to find out what a Sonoran Style Dog was...and BK's was credited w having one of the best in Tucson. We studied the menu and a very friendly staffer took our order at the counter (2 Sonoran dogs, a side of fries and chips n salsa...you don't order THOSE together in Chicago! :) Probably only 10 min passed when a server arrived at our table w our order: 2 Sonoran style hot dogs wrapped in bacon and slid inside a kind of 'canoe' of a bun in that the ends were attached vs a traditional bun w each end open. The dogs were covered w whole pinto beans, grilled and fresh onions and fresh diced tomato squirted w with mayonnaise 'laces' and a line of mustard. They also had a little jalapeño sauce plus a plump, grilled yellow pepper. Frankly, pun intended, one of us should've ordered one of the many other southwestern items (e.g.beef tacos, a carne asada burro, a Parrillada (read the menu) or fajitas) just to try something other than the same thing. To be fair (or unfair) to the rating I'd actually give the hot dog a 3 (again, I'm biased toward the Chicago dog), not because the ingredients weren't fresh or tasty, but just because it was A) messy to eat, B) the hot dog was kinda bland and C) it was missing snap. If you're from NYC or Jersey, you know that 'snap' I'm talking about, which wasn't happening w this dog. That said, the fries were crisp and crunchy and nicely salted, and the salsa bar had some wonderful choices for our chips (mild, medium, hot, really hot). We'd go back, but not for the hot dogs...the southwestern items looked fantastic and the aroma in the place was great.More

Had the opportunity to try this place a few weeks ago and am just now getting around to posting. I had both Sonoran dog and a couple tacos. The mesquite is what makes their food special. Service and food were top notch. Salsa bar is...among the best I've experienced. Prices were reasonable. A must try if you are in the area or worth a drive if not nearby.More

There’s no shortage of Sonoran dogs in Tucson, but it was one of the best I’ve had. Their salsa bar has a nice large selection of items too.

While we were in Tucson we wanted to try something local, with specialities of the area. We were not disappointed! I loved the tacos and my husband had a Sonoran Hot Dog/Taco combination. Our oldest son had plain hot dogs, and our youngest had a...quesadilla. We also ordered some chips and guacamole. Everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The salsa bar has so many choices to personalize your meal, although labels for the salsas would have been helpful as to how spicy each was. We would definitely come back if we are in the area. It was also relatively easy to find.More

Great food and Great atmosphere. I will definitely visit this place again. I tried the chicken, carne and bean taco bar, with a piña colada. Very generous with portions. I could not finish it all. The guacamole was excellent as well!
