We have eaten here before but never for breakfast so we decided to try it. I had scrambled eggs with yummy stuff in it - like nopales, and chilies, and cheese! It came with a choice of sides and I picked the potatoes and a biscuit. My husband had the corn beef hash which he enjoyed. The servings were not huge but plenty to eat and you can choose how many eggs. you want. There were lots of choices and we look forward to returning and trying a few other things.

Looking around at various places in that area (after an unhappy experience eating at Casino del Sol the night before, we were absolutely not going to have breakfast there), we trusted our GPS and turned up at Coyote Pause Cafe. Oh, my! How lucky can one get? The Huevos Rancheros were wonderful and I was impressed by the addition on the menu of more than one level of eggs cooked over easy (someone in the kitchen knows how to pay attention to eggs). The service was cheery and candid. We found the entire staff very friendly, efficient, and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the decor on the (enclosed) patio, the Arizona Room. The shops in the small plaza located around the cafe were also fun. We stopped here on our way to the Desert Museum in the Saguaro National Park, and it proved to be a very convenient stop.

Thank heavens for this wonderful cafe. The food was just excellent on several occasions. Vouchers provided by Cat Mountain were cheerfully accepted. The breakfast burrito was top notch as were the shredded beef tacos and cheese quesadilla. The Prickly Pear lemonade was unreal!! What a taste treat. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent. If they were open for dinner we would have visited even again. Outside of a Mexican restuarant nearby (that is only good for take-out), there is nowhere else to eat quality food within a 30+ minutes drive. Highly recommend.

We've been here six times and tried different items each time and always enjoyed them all. We stay at the Cat Mountain Roadside Inn & Lodge each time and receive vouchers that go toward the costs of the meals. If the food wasn't good, we'd still stay at the lodge (we loooove it there) but just wouldn't go to the cafe. But it's a simple, hardworking, clean little cafe with good, solid food. Nothing is fancy, but it's quick, good, with nice staff and a local place. We are happy to support it and look forward to working our way through the menu on future visits.

This is a fabulous place for brekkie/lunch...have enjoyed both here. The only slight negative is that service is a bit slow but I only say this to warn you.....don't be in a hurry. Food is delicious and portions are perfect. If you're in an omelette mood do try the Cat Mountain Omelette. You'll enjoy the ambience too.

This is a little hidden gem on the west side of Tucson. Conveniently located on the way to several area attractions, you can stop for breakfast or lunch on your way to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Saguaro National Park - West or Old Tucson Studios. Or you can just enjoy a beautiful drive and enjoy a meal here.
The food is delicious, service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Was in town visiting family. We stopped for breakfast, and went back for lunch later in the week. Both times had excellent, super friendly servers, and wonderful food. I had the Cat Mountain omelette, which was one of the best omelettes I have ever had. For lunch the Tucson Tacos were incredible. And the rice and beans had real flavor, not plain tasting as so many places have. And I loved how every table had a different oil cloth table covering. That really added to the charm of the cafe.

Waited an hour after being seated to place order. Food was awful! Hamburger was way overcooked and tasted like they warmed up the microwave. Paid a lot of money for a bad meal. The manager was extremely rude and was raising voice to my friend and calling her names. Will never go back..

Four of us drove out from different parts of Tucson to meet for brunch. One couple brought their dog. The website says you can enjoy their dog friendly courtyard. What they don't say is there is no service out there. You have to go in to order, bring out your own drinks, and eventually go get your own food in to go containers, since they said they'd bring it out and never did. Our food had sat long enough for the fries to be soggy and steamed. The waste of to-go containers really bothered us. They'd be more honest to say you can get to go meals if you bring a dog, and eat them at their courtyard tables. The food was fine, but it wasn't the experience we envisioned at all.

It's conveniently located right off the highway. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. It's in a small area although the parking was plentiful. I could tell that it would fill up fast as it seemed to be one busy place. This restaurant still has that small town feel it's a definite classic type vibe with experienced wait staff taking orders and a pleasant person up front seating people. It's a breakfast joint, it's about being realistic this is not a high end bistro The food was well prepared hot and delicious. The service was fast and efficient and the food came along quickly. Staff really cared and wanted you to be happy. They serve breakfast and lunch. I know they try to have some local food and I thought their baked goods were all good I had the southwestern scramble. I would recommend the place and try some other different foods.

After a morning of hiking in the nearby national park, we came here for lunch. Honestly for me, it was perfect. A margarita and the burger more than met my expectations, and they were super accommodating for my kid who would only eat a peanut butter and jelly (or as billed, untoasted toast with a side of peanut butter, jelly no charge haha)
It had a very casual vibe, which was fine by me. Set your expectations accordingly. I would gladly return.

We arrived for breakfast about 9 o’clock and it was quite busy. We were given a nice table towards the back. Coffee was provided immediately and we ordered a Cat Mountain omelette and two eggs with bacon, potatoes, sourdough. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Given a top up coffee to go as well. Service very good and great value.

My wife and I were excited to try Coyote Pause Cafe. However, our visit did not live up to our expectations. The food did not quite reach the level of mediocre. The worst was the rice my wife ordered to accompany eggs. The rice really had an off taste. Either there was something rotten about the rice or the cook puts vinegar on the rice. Our eggs were good. I cautiously ate sausage and gravy. No paper towels in the bathroom. Our waitress scratched her butt twice. We waited a very long time to get service.

This was an ideal stop between the mission of San Xavier and the Sonoran Desert Museum. The food was great but everyone in our party of 8 enjoyed the prickly pear margaritas. The service was good, a little slow. However, our wife's shopped at the stores around the restaurant while we sipped our drinks. It was a great local lunch site close to the Tucson Mountain District.

Quaint little Cafe in Dexter Heights area of Tucson, AZ . In business since the mid 1970s. Friendly, informative staff, great breakfast served all day. Note: closes at 2pm.
We enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros over tamale pie w/ refried beans and the Cat Mountain Omelet with jalapeño bacon, avocado and cheddar jack cheese. Both were served warm tasty and satisfying.
