Had both the pork ribs and hit links both were very good! Love the BBQ sauce which we opted for on the side for dipping. Loved the smokey flavor which leaves the meat moist yet not do fatty. The exterior is rough but the staff friendly and the good worth the trip!

So my wife and I landed at the Tucson Airport and were starving. My phone showed us this joint. Um, it is a little "rustic" to look at but the BBQ was wonderful. Some of the best pulled pork I've ever had, and the ribs were great. The brisket was just OK so I'd stick with pork dishes. Mr. K... More

Okay, I tried it, the Southern Fried Catfish dinner. It was as I expected, seasoned with cornmeal just like I grew up with in Texas, good stuff! Oh, the BBQ sliced beef is good too, just wish they had white bread slices instead of buns; corn bread muffins are good.

In response to several recent reviews of mine on a couple of Tucson BBQ restaurants in which I expressed great disappointment in their beef brisket offerings, I received recommendations from several readers to try Mr. K's brisket. I had tried Mr. K's a while back and was unimpressed, but that was at their (now closed) River and Stone location. But... More

My husband and I do try to stop in Mr. K's whenever we're in Tucson. He enjoyed their beef with sweet potatoes and beans, and loved it. The portions are huge, the bbq sauce fantastic and the guys behind the counter are so pleasant. They really want you to enjoy your meal. I had the pork ribs, fall off the... More

These folks are very nice and accommodating. The BBQ is good but drowning in sauce. I'd ask for it on the side. I had a combo with beef, pulled pork, spare rib and added a beef rib. A lot of food and reasonable. I had double greens cause I really like them but these were a little off. Not bad... More

West Texas style, best sauce anywhere. Meat stands on its own, and some fantastic sides (the bbq beans are especially great). Nothing else in Tucson comes close. Both of the proprietors (Ray and Dennis) provide a friendly and inviting atmosphere.

Since we moved to Tucson, my family and I have searched for good BBQ. We finally found it at the Original Mr. K's Barbecue. The first time we had the family platter. There was more than enough food for 3 very hunger male adults. Since then we have the platters. The brisket was moist and tender with a nice hint of... More

I recently visited Mr. K's BBQ. The place is a blue shack which is well kept inside (especially the restrooms are cleaner than you expect). Back to the food - I have visited twice since the time I wrote this review and will probably visit again during my stay in Tucson. I ordered the Beef Brisket and Beef Ribs during... More

So...I had been reading about Mr K and his famous BBQ for awhile now! Went last evening as part of a Birthday "Girls Trip"....and am SO glad I tried it! YUMMY!!! I got the "sampler plate" with ribs, hot link, and brisket. I asked for the sauce on the side. Good thing I did, because I had SO much food,... More
