We went for breakfast really good coffee, food and location. Services very slow but this seems to be all over in Tucson - it took 2 hours for breakfast. I had the breakfast burrito it was delicious. If you are looking for something quick this...isn’t your place. I would go back just plan accordingly.More

We had a wonderful lunch prior to going to the theater. We sat at the bar and Sam, our bartender/waiter, could NOT have done a better job of taking care of us...he was kind, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. If you can only have...his service by sitting at the bar, do it. In addition, the food was great...tasty and a very large portion, no skimping here.More

Incredible place for brunch, any meal. We have never experienced anything negative at the Cup, and they can be like all, understaffed. Somehow they make every visit here a great experience. Quiche is always wonderful. Breakfast potatoes are a meal within themselves. You may be...lucky and have live music. Love this place.More

The food was very good but the service was nonexistent! I don’t know if they were short on servers tonight as ours never came back after she took our order.

Went to listen to music in their outdoor venue. Food trailer didn’t have anything of interest and a seemingly minimal menu. Ordered from the Cup, paid, tipped in advance and waited 10 minutes for an order of French fries. Ate one on the way back...to our table and they were completely cold, not even like warm. Couldn’t believe they just gave cold, standing around fries. This is also an example of the fallacy of tipping in advance. Won’t make that mistake again. Hope the food trailer returns to better options. Band was great at least.More

From the moment you walk into the Congress Hotel, you have entered an era of stately refinements from another age. From the 'old' style check-in desk with large metal keys, to the old switchboard that is actually used, to the telephone booths complete with chairs,...folding doors for privacy to the lounge where you go to listen to jazz, this hotel reeked of charm. Matt and Ellie greeted and seated us in the small cafe. The menu had a delicious array of options and, once served, were absolutely delicious. Wow! The selection was awesome, and service superb. This was the meal to be savored and time is allowed to do just that. I certainly hope to return to enjoy more of these meals in this superb ambience.More

We ate at the Cup Cafe for lunch/brunch while visiting my husband's family in Tucson. The atmosphere is great as the Cup Cafe is in the historic Congress Hotel. This is the hotel at which the gangster, John Dillinger's crew were staying in 1934 when...a fire broke out in the hotel. Two firefighters recognized Dillinger's men, which led to the gangster's arrest. He was sent back to the midwest for killing a Chicago police officer and was eventually killed in Chicago as he attempted to get away from police. We ordered five meals- two fish and chips, one brioche French toast, one Cubano sandwich and one Tucson dip sandwich. I had the brioche French toast, which was very dry, my husband had the Cubano sandwich and was not impressed, and my mother-in-law and brother-in-law had the fish and chips. They said that the fish was mostly breading and the fries were very salty. My sister-in-law had the Tucson dip sandwich and said that it was very good! Service was fine-- we were seated after about 15 minutes and we got our food after about 25 minutes. The waitress was fine as she was polite, but not overly friendly.More

As usual, this Cafe knocks it out of the block! Service was great and the food was delicious. The outdoor patio is the best. The hotel is great to visit as well. Walls lined with history. If you haven’t tried this place and are looking...for a new place to dine. This is it!More

The backyard is so wonderful. Not that expensive, food is fantastic, excellent service, and no matter how hot it is outside you always feel comfortable in the shades back yard of the Congress Hotel. From the moment you walk in the hostess makes you feel...welcome, which is rare for some places these days when you are solo… highly recommend. There is a lot more to do in this hotel, but I only had the pleasure of eating in the backyard..More

We brought a friend from Church, who was having a birthday. We have been here many many times over the years. We were seated promptly and our server took our drink order. Our drinks were at the table within minutes of ordering them. We order...our food, which was also served within 10 minutes of our ordering them. Everything was excellent! I do believe this visit was by far our best of all the rest. Prices are very reasonable. We had our choice on inside or outside dining. We chose inside. Very friendly servers, who take care of their customers. We highly recommend this historic hotel cafe. By the way, this is the hotel where Dillinger was captured. Check the walls inside and you will see lots of news articles and magazine reviews on this establishment.More

The mains here were excellent. We had farro salmon salad and gnocchi at our table. We sat outside in March and the heaters kept us quite comfortable. Service was standard. Dessert was a disappointment. Ordered the apple pie bread pudding and it was very dry...inside. The outside was warm, but inside was still cold.More

I got the gnocchi and it was amazing, as were the cocktails from the bartender. Our server had obviously been crying and we told her it's ok sweetie!! She was professional and got back to work but I just felt like the staff was miserable...in general...not a great look. Maybe it was just an off day.More

We dined at the Cup Café twice during this Tucson visit, and have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. For the first visit husband ordered the fish tacos, and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Chicken was terrific, and the side salad...was very fresh and delicious. Husband liked his fish tacos. Husband's salad with blackened tofu was the better dish during our second visit, though my cauliflower tacos were quite good. Service is always good, and an inexpensive parking garage is only about a block away.More
