My friend Robin & I decided to try Umi Star after I had noted several people I know said they had amazing Asian tacos and some different spins on sushi. The restaurant itself is really nice inside--sleek, contemporary and modern. I had to inquire about the signs for every parking space in the strip mall noting "15 minute parking--car will... More

Just discovered this little place. Great fit-out on the inside. Sushi is fresh and yummy. They also serve tacos! Will have to try those next time!

Again, I wish I could only write positive reviews, but in the spirit of fair and unbiased journalism - I'll offer up as much positive as I can muster without compromising the fact I just did not have a good experience during my visit to Umi Star. I had to circle the building twice to find a parking spot, which... More

This title certainly covers what Umi Star has to offer. Love this place for it's uniqueness. We've been here a couple of times and always the same great service and creative menu items. The mixologist really knows his stuff. I've had a couple of their drinks and enjoyed them all. Yesterday was a nice surprise day. Cinco de Mayo was... More

Creative flare to Asian cuisine! We stumbled upon this restaurant in a fit of hunger and could not have been more pleased! The cocktails, edamame, sushi, rolls, and dessert each had their own unique notes and design. Complementary almond ice cream with candied basil, and chocolate ice cream with a smokey, candied bacon left us dreaming of our next encounter... More

We went here in a small group of people. The servers were all attentive and friendly and the n behind the bar was happy to answer any questions we had about drinks and the menu. While I will say this place is a bit overpriced, I do think you pay for what you get. The presentation is amazing and they... More

Four of us went there (for the first time) and decided to order one of everything on the happy hour menu. WE LOVED IT. Everything was fresh with great presentation. They had some unique things to try. The drinks the server suggested were great. It was worth every penny. We can't wait to go back.

No California roll you say? Are you sure? Then what is a "Cali Roll (with Crab, Cucumber, Avocado, and Rice)"? Sounds awfully like a California roll to me. Look, I don't know who have been writing raving reviews for this place, but in truth, it is pretentiously overpriced for everyday food. $7 for an "Asian-styled" hotdog and $6 for two... More
