The restaurant everyone in Tucson recommended we try for great southwestern food, as opposed to Tex Mex, was closed, so we asked our concierge for other choices. He gave us several, from which we chose El Minuto, due to its proximity to our hotel. I would have never considered stopping without the 5-star rating on the printout he provided. The... More

We visited this 3 years ago and were impressed. Not this time. With 6000 people just exiting the Convention Center at about 5PM on a Saturday you'd think this would quickly become jam packed as it is just across the street. It was maybe half full. Server was not very friendly nor efficient, got the impression we were just "a... More

I've been meaning to write this for a long time. My husband and I have become quite the regulars for lunch at El Minuto. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced, the food is always served piping hot and their house margaritas are scrumptious. Dinner is excellent, too. I love their chicken enchiladas. Our favorite server is Hector Guizar. He is... More

We had a quick dinner before seeing James Taylor at Tucson Arena. El Minuto is just across the street. We waited about 30 minutes for a table - the restaurant brought us cups of cold water - very nice. Our food was good. I had most interesting corn tortilla quesadillas with chicken. Very tasty and great texture. My wife had... More

We went here on a recommendation from our hotel. It was hard to find based on the hotels directions. It looks a little sketchy from the outside, which our hotel warned us about, but it was find inside. This has a local charm, but the service was not great. We almost seemed like we were inconveniencing them at times. The... More

So trying an "old/new" place and it was not even close to being a decent Mexican food restaurant. Not too sure how they have stayed in business for so many years. I ordered the "specialty" topopo chicken salad, a pile of shredded iceberg lettuce, 4 slices of avocado, a few tablespoons of refried beans, and some unseasoned shredded chicken. My... More

You cannot go wrong with El Minuto. It is a full restaurant (not really a cafe). The decor is very nice, service is excellent, and food was wonderful. The location is very good also. Just south of downtown and they have their own dedicated parking lot. We will be back often.

Fantastic place we found years ago while walking the Turquios Trail in downtown Tucson. It is right on the edge of the Barrio across from the Convetion Center. Thankfully, the did not tear it down when them made the TCC as this place has been there since 1936 and run, I believe, by the same family. Go for lunch during... More

Three friends and I had spent the day exploring the Barrio area when I remembered this restaurant had always been my brothers favorite spot to visit on his trips to Tucson. Just as a heads up there is a cool shrine next to this place that honors the only sinner ...it's pretty interesting...anyway, food was just ok...we had soup and... More
