Picking up friends at the airport and whisking them to El Charro for a delicious Mexican meal is a "must". The original downtown location is a wonderful throw back to visions of 1920's Tucson. If the weather is suitable, sit in the courtyard and enjoy the sights and sounds as you devour your yummy Carne Asada. Look up and you... More

Have eaten here on several occasions when visiting Tucson. Service was great, food was ok. Ordered from the value menu. Don't think the Sonoran Dog is the next big thing.

My girlfriend and I went after a craft fair at the Tucson Art Museum. It was very hot outside, so it was very refreshing to sit inside at El Charro. There were also outside tables available. This was on a weekend, crowded but not a wait. Our waiter was very attentive and provided good service. Food was good, but I... More

El Charro downtown location is the best of all Charro restaurants. Foods, ambience and services are top notch. Lorenzo is one of the server, he makes you feel at home. Thank you Lorenzo, you are the best.

We arrived early and were seated quickly. The wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks were very good. A nice selection of foods for a vegan, All of us ordered different items from menu and all were delicious and filling. Have been to both of their locations and found both very good. Being downtown is nice so... More

We're always looking for an easy and convenient good place to meet after a day of hiking at Sabino Canyon & El Charro Cafe is just the spot. Easy parking, reasonable wait to be seated when busy (don't recommend it if you're in a hurry), good food and decent prices. Can get so busy & loud that we often are... More

I took an out of town friend here when we were in Tucson for a conference this June (I live near Phoenix but had been to El Charro before). The experience was great. Although it was a busy Friday evening, we only had a 15-20 minute wait for a table. The service was fine, and we had water, chips, and... More

How I judge a good Mexican restaurant is by the rice. OMG El Charro's is the best. The rest of the food is of course good and they invented the chimi but the rice is outstanding. The building is wonderful the ambiance is amazing...I love the place

This original El Charro location is superb! Roomy restaurant, including basement seating, enclosed front porch, main house as well as outdoor patio and several quaint rooms for a party of 8-12. There is a small bar area too, this is the place to start while waiting for your table. Happy hour Margaritas start @ 4$ and are quite tasty! Staff... More
