We were greeted by Kelly, the charming hostess and wife of the Chef. Seated immediately in a corner table. Jared, our waiter, carefully made great recommendations and service was superb. The food? Spectacular-here are the details. My wife thought their lemon drop martini was the best she ever had, I enjoyed and excellent Bordeaux from WA-$10 glass. Excellent blue point oysters $15 for 1/2 dozen. The small plate brie tucked into fresh pastry ($6) and the mushroom, brie pastry were both excellent. She had the filet mignon-excellent, thick and not the usual round piece. The sea bass was perfectly prepared. All hard to believe in the middle of the desert. One of the best French Restaurants we have ever enjoyed and Yes we have been to France many times and go to New Orleans many times a year.

Even though the website only shows their "small plates" this restaurant has a full dinner menu that is magnificent. The location is a little off the beaten path but not hard to find and ample parking in back. There were six of us for dinner and we were immediately welcomed by the waiter who let us pick where we wanted to be seated. Two of us had the special Pecan Crusted Rack of Lamb . I can without a doubt say that was the best, most tender, most delicious lamb dish I have ever tasted! My husband had Steak au Poivre, cooked to perfection medium rare, and also truly amazing. Other dishes ordered were Duck (excellent), Sea Bass (excellent) and Dover Sole (which even came with the roe sack - sautéed). Each entree came with a special potato dish of thinly sliced potatoes that had been first fried and then baked with butter and breadcrumbs to perfection, and some freshly steamed vegetables. We also shared Mussels, White Bean Soup, Snails and Mushrooms in puff pastry before the main course. All were amazing. When we saw Chocolate Soufflé's on the menu and another dish called Pithiviers (puff pastry with almond paste filling served with vanilla ice cream) we just could not resist ordering two of each to split for dessert. The wine selection was good and reasonable. Last but not least we had the best service imaginable. The fact that this restaurant has been in business for over 40 years and is still in the "family" is in itself a great testimonial. What a great experience!!

My wife and I had a fantastic dining experience celebrating Valentine’s Day at Le Rendez Vous. There was a special “fixed price” 5 course meal with numerous fabulous options for each course. The food was delicious, served in small and manageable portions, so you could enjoy all 5 courses and not “fill up” after 2 or 3 courses. The service was first class; very friendly and welcoming waiters and waitresses and help staff. For us, this was a “special occasion” night out; we knew it would be an expensive, delicious, memorable dining experience. Strongly recommend for special occasion dinners!

We went with friends, and we were not optimistic. The restaurant is not near much. We were so wrong. The food was incredible. There were full menus, with authentic French cuisine, The staff were very knowledgeable about the food and the wine. We closed down the restaurant, yet they never rushed us. You must go to this restaurant when in Tuscon.

Very disappointing! We went for my 67th birthday. Reservations were made 2 weeks ago, when we arrived, we were seated in a very tight corner with no circulation and to make matters worse the air conditioning was not working properly. We and several other customers were using our menus as fans. When we asked about the AC the wait staff just shrugged it off. We had appetizers, salads and dinner. We made it through the first 2 courses and ate some of the entrees before we had enough. I asked for my dinner to go and we left. It was so unenjoyable to pay top dollar for a meal that was so so, and made even less appetizing because of the heat. No recognition for my birthday although it was noted when the reservation was made. We won't be back for a while and if and when we decide to go back it will be in the winter or we will call to see if the AC is working.

My wife and I made reservations for our anniversary through Open Table. We arrived on time and I told the lady our name and reservation. She proceeded to seat us in their bistro area. When the waitstaff arrived I asked what the difference between the area we were placed and the white table clothed area was. She said that was where the 'regulars' and people with reservations sat. I informed her that we had reservations but she seemed flustered and not offered to change locations. It never filled up. The onion soup was good the bread placed on the table was nothing special. My duck had a nice sauce but the sides were so so. My wife ordered the Boeuf Wellington. The steak was good but the pastry surrounding it was gooey and the potatoes were undercooked. Presentation was underwhelming. I don't get the rave reviews for this restaurant. We decided that we would never be back but I wasn't going to bother with a review. But then this morning Open Table told me that since we didn't show up that we would not receive points. Obviously they treated us as walk-ins even though I told 2 different people of our reservation. Totally mis-managed

After a dozen trips to Paris, France, and spending months in the 6th and 7th arr. in rented apartments, we developed a keen liking for the French way of preparing food. We tried many restaurants both well-known and local favorites. Five years ago we visited LRV for the first time and enjoyed the experience; great food and service. We revisited LRV yesterday and discovered they have improved the food and service to sublime/perfect. We tried the small plate seared scallop with white bean sauce, house made pate and roasted beet salads. The scallop was perfectly seared and seasoned and the white bean sauce complimented the main ingredient. The house made pate was served with a simple green salad with a vinaigrette and crostinis. It was terrrific! The beet salad was served with some greens, pine nuts and beautifully roasted red beets. My wife had the mini Wellington and it was so good. We RV from Idaho to AZ for the winter. We've already made plans to celebrate both or our 2023 birthdays at LVR.

I ordered 7 items to try - not a single one was acceptable. Souffle has to be ordered at the beginning it takes 45 min. You would think they would start that right away, they waited until I finished my meal and I was left waiting the 45 min for the dish. The problems didn't end with that. I can tell they used corn starch instead of arrowroot. It was overall bad taste. The Wellington was even worse. The chef does not know how to prepare meat he left grizzle on my small peice. The pastry was burnt and meat was undercooked. I am not going to bother describing the other items the Pear Salad was the only item that was good although portion was small.

We found this restaurant after discovering the reservation we made at another restaurant was for the wrong day. It was Saturday night and most of the places we called had an hour wait, but the call to this restaurant yielded the information that we could come and would be seated which was the case. The three of us shared the mussel appetizer which was in a fantastic sauce and was a very large portion. We ordered a bottle of Arizona wine that turned out to be excellent. The waiter, Lucious, offered us an order of the appetizer scallops which couldn’t be served since whoever ordered it needed it to be gluten free. They were very good. On of us had the Branzino special and was reported to be excellent, another had the chicken (coq au Riesling) also deemed terrific, and I ordered the duck with bourbon soaked cherries that was as good of a half duck I have had. We all thought the food was superb and we agreed we would be happy to return. I highly recommend this place.

The atmosphere is noisy for what pretends to be a fine dining experience which it is not. A special fish of the day (Dover Sole) was served Luke warm at best and tasted as if it came off the boat more than a week ago. Fortunately, the beet salad was okay. Wine was expensive with a pretentious menu. Suffice it to say, for a fine dining experience where you intend to be pampered with French cuisine, this is no longer the place to visit. Extremely disappointing.

We've been coming to this bijou of a restaurant after finding it by accident in 2007. It was delicious then and, if possible, it's even better 17 years later. An intimate venue with both a very comfortable formal dining room and more casual "patio" area, this is the place we bring all our out-of-town guests and our three adult daughters and their families when they're visiting. As if we needed another example, our dinner last night was merveilleux. We were welcomed by Diego and his very capable staff as if we were visiting royalty, and one of Diego's signature Cosmos was waiting for me. My husband and I split the escargots - tender, juicy morsels served with all the fresh, warm bread necessary to soak up the garlic butter - then the trio de champignons - warm brie and a variety of toothsome mushrooms nestled in golden puff paste - and finally, foie gras that would make the angels applaud, served with homemade, wafer-thin crostini and micro greens. While usually not a dessert girl, I can never resist their Grand Mariner soufflé with homemade, flavored whipped cream to top the evening off. The beautiful setting, the service par excellence, and the delicious food (don't forget to check out their daily specials) - even Carthusian monks would shout for joy. One more benefit - there's plenty of free parking. Hurry up and go to Le Rendezvous!

This is the spot for high-end true French food in Tucson. We took Francophile friends who recently moved to the area and nobody was disappointed! Two of us shared the 2-person chateaubriand and it was 100% the real deal. Absolutely fantastic. Likewise our other dishes were first tier. The place was packed on a Friday night, with a mostly older crowd, but families and young couples on dates as well. The staff were capable and friendly. It was not cheap, however. With a modestly priced (and very good) Burgundy wine, cocktails, and tip, we ran $100/head. You get what you pay for.

Our party of 3 was celebrating a birthday. We hadn’t been back in a while. I made reservations through Open Table: 7:30 dinner, main dinning room. Diego surprisingly recognized us from our last visit! He is the best! Friendly attentive, made our evening very enjoyable. We ordered cocktails while deciding on what to order. Appetizer ordered was the Escargot. Entrees ordered were the Duck, Peppersteak and Beef Wellington. I had the Beef Wellington, classic French dish. It was absolutely delicious! The presentation and taste of all the dishes were excellent! Still my Tucson go to for French cuisine! Atmosphere: quaint, small, romantic in main dining room. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.

This is a great restaurant. It is not easy to find a notable French restaurant in the U. S. anymore. Everything here was perfect. We loved both the pear and beet salads. My wife's duck with a cherry sauce was cooked to perfection. My scallops were excellent. The grand Marnier souffle was very special in that the vanilla sauce was of the consistency of a vanilla whipped cream that complemented the perfect the grand Marnier flavor of the desert. The dinner experience there was terrific.

Really great meal with outstanding service and charming servers. We have an apartment in Paris, and I find the food at Le Rendezvous-vous as good as bistros in that city. All dishes were perfectly cooked, the sauces were wonderful, especially on the duck, portions were large, the dessert soufflés were delicious, and the wine list extensive and high quality. For the quality of the meal, the prices were quite reasonable. Really an outstanding meal and wonderful overall experience.
