Unpleasant seating, low food quality, poor preparation and high prices. This may be a landmark but it is not a very good restaurant. Unfortunately this is typical of many of the older steak houses in Tucson before it became more of a foodie place.

I am normally really cautious about ordering steak out because it always seems to be over or under cooked, but that was not the case at Lil Abner's. We met a couple friends there and all 4 of our steaks were absolutely perfect. The service was outstanding and the garlic toast is ridiculously addicting. If your into craft beer then... More

By now, this is a local landmark, and you mustn't miss it. Simply the best steak house anywhere in Northwest Tucson. It would be very hard to express just how much we love this restaurant, and you will, too! A true "western experience" with a modern flair.

Great steak, average service. The atmosphere is pretty rustic with an open mesquite pit used to cook the steaks, ribs, etc. the bone in ribeye was cooked wonderfully. It comes with salad, Texas toast and ranch style beans. Baked potatoes are extra. Craft beer selection is limited, however they had an Oak Creek Hefeweizen on tap that was pretty good. The... More

Steak lovers dream - large steaks cooked on an open mesquite fire. Simple menu with great meat options. All of our steaks were cooked right and tasted great. Service was lacking, had to ask a couple of times to get all the items we ordered. They were very slow in taking our order. Live music was a plus and it... More

If you're on the mood of eating like a cowboy eat years ago this is the place!! When you arrive the first thing you will get is the mesquite aroma and the sensation of time travel to the past atmosphere. About the food I have come this place many times!! with NO disappointments, my best plates are the beef ribs,... More

Was not blown away by the food or atmosphere. The food was good and decent portions, however not really for the prices. Patio was nice, with live music offered. Inside, the walls are covered in old licence plates and general "stuff".

Ribs and steaks are pricey but fairly good.Texas Road house has better ribs in my opinion but Lil Abners is an old Tucson blast from the past.BBQ sauce was odd tasting.I prefer having a choice of sauces and you don't get that here.It is a real authentic old road house atmosphere and the smell of Esquire will get your appetite... First timers here. Place is empty, like a sign it'd seen better days. Who knows maybe it fills up at other times? My ribs were so salty they literally stung my lips & mouth. My husbands steak, a little overdone. Presenting a basically empty plate is not so appealing. Lots of room for improvement guys. And you may be some... More
