I just had a grossly overpriced meal at Li'l Abner's. The 1lb Bone in Rib Eye steak was thin and not tender. The flavor was good but a better quality rib eye can be had any day at my Costco. Paying "market price" for a...mediocre steak with a poor salad and beans just does not cut it.More

My husband and I visited Li'l Abner's Steakhouse on our way out of Tuscon en route to Sedona. We were glad we did because it was a delicious dinner! We had no reservations but were seated quickly. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We started...our meals with house salads, which were basic but good. My husband had the ribs which he enjoyed. I had the filet mignon, which was excellent - perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. I also had a baked potato on the side and tried some of the delicious beans on the side and the Texas Toast. We also had a cherry pie and pecan pie for dessert, both of which were excellent; sweet but not too much so. They were a perfect end to our meal! Our waitress asked us about dessert right after our entrees and took a good 10-15 minutes to bring them. We were worried she forgot but we did end up getting them. The price was reasonable for what we ate. We loved the atmosphere. It was cozy and homey. We were seated in a little dark corner table where someone had written "Date Night Table Only" on the wall. The bathrooms were in little closet-looking doors and had funny writing on their walls. All of the employees were wearing masks properly and patrons were also wearing them when moving around the restaurant. We felt comfortable and safe. We would definitely recommend Li'l Abner's if you're in the area!More

I have been dining at Li'l Abners Steakhouse for years and decided to write a review of my recent visit. This is a very laidback steakhouse with fine dining prices. Steaks and burgers are prepared outdoors on the open grill and cooked to order. Dinner...Salad, Beans, Salsa as well as Texas Toast is included. Seating is available inside or outside on the large patio and consist mostly of picnic tables. Live music is often played on the weekends but please check ahead of time. If you are wanting a flavorful steak in an extremely casual/laid-back atmosphere this place is for you. They are open for diner only and with limited seating due to Covid you may have a wait. Reservations are accepted.More

Our dinner group chose Li’l Abners this past Friday for our meal. We made reservations, so there was no wait to get seated. They had Covid safety processes in place with every other table blocked off, masks for staff & guests, and staying 6 feet...apart. It took a few minutes for drink orders to be taken and for us to get drinks. The house margaritas were great ! For some reason, they split our table between 2 servers - one was great the other was very slow and did not work out well at all. Everyone FINALLY did get drinks after half the table waited & waited & waited ! Our orders were taken and again half the table lagged on getting their meals. The food was fantastic - filet, tbone, salmon, chicken - all great !! I’m rating this a 4 - mainly for the food which is a 5, but the service was a 3 at best, maybe a 2 - needs improvement. I’ll give li’l Abners another try later, but hoping the service improves. A little pricey, but the steaks are very good !More

Tonight my husband and I met a group of friends at Lil Abner’s for one of our friend’s birthday dinner. The friend had never been to the restaurant, but had heard it was a landmark that served great food. Sadly, it was not a great...experience and the meals were below average at above average prices. The first clue that the restaurant has slipped from its once “great restaurant” status was when our waitress set a near empty ketchup bottle on the table and mustard with dry, crusted mustard on the outside. Picking up the ketchup, I marveled aloud why anyone would bother putting an empty bottle on a table for 7 people. I tilted the bottle sideways and the small amount of ketchup that remained ran like water, because it had very obviously been diluted with water! The birthday girl pointed this out to our waitress and asked if we could have more ketchup. Everyone watched as the waitress took the bottle to the side and picked up a second equally empty bottle and placed them both on the table... sigh, you will not get fresh ketchup here. My husband and I ordered hamburgers, that came with a soggy dill spear, and one drink each, Our bill with tip was $50!!! Fifty dollars and we couldn’t even get an undiluted fresh bottle of ketchup (BTW - we all passed on touching the dirty, crusty mustard bottle). Need I say - we will never go back or recommend this once great Arizona establishment.More

We went here because the hotel recommended this place. There was a group of 6 of us. Not a large selection of items on the menu. Not really much in the way of appetizers. The food was ok but the sides were bread, beans &...salsa. Not a beans fan, my steak was tasty--I had a ribeye steak. Hubby had salmon which he said was tasty. Others in group had ribs but barbecue sauce too spicy for them. If you are with a group & want lots of options--this isn't the place to go.More

You can tell that this place is quirky as soon as you step into the outdoor patio area. The walls are covered with graffiti and art and the entry is literally covered with old license plates and memorabilia. All the walls in the entire restaurant...have been drawn on - the wall near us had the birth announcement of a child written in large letters! You're allowed to do this, so bring a Sharpie when you come! Crazy! We ate here on Valentine's Day and I will admit that it was a busy, busy night. It took some time before we were waited on, but once the waitress found us, the service was good. My T-Bone steak was cooked to perfection and the pork ribs that my spouse ordered were excellent. All you could eat ranch beans, Texas toast and salsa (looked and tasted like stewed tomatoes) came with the meal, along with a green salad. Well worth going to eat there just to see this unique restaurant and add your own graffiti!More

We had a really enjoyable meal at Li’l Abner’s. We chose this restaurant because when we looked up, “fun and interesting restaurants in Tucson,” this came up a few times. It is really casual, we sat outside at a picnic table. The inside is old...looking with all kinds of stuff on the walls, including many signatures. There is a stage outside. We saw somebody walking in with a guitar so I assume they have live music later in the evening. My son had 1/2 pork ribs and loved the whole meal, including BBQ sauce, bread, potato wedges, beans and salad. My husband and I split a burger and baked potato, and I got a side salad. Everything really hit the spot. We got there during happy hour, I had half off a mixed drink, and the guys got beers ($2 off). We finished with pecan pie with ice cream....so very good! Donna, our server, couldn’t have been nicer!More

Fabulous steak, bottomless ranch style beans with pico de Gallo on the side, basic salad, huge baked potato and endless garlic toast in an old stage coach location on the edge of town.... Doesn't look like much, but the best steak dinner I've had in...years!More

We had planned to eat at the local Texas Roadhouse, but they were absolutely overcrowded, so went to searching for another Steakhouse in the area. Discovered this place, unique and Eclectic doesn't begin to describe it, but all in a good way. Large outdoor seating...area with live music, we sat on a picnic bench and ate outstanding steaks appetizers and desserts. The interior is just as unique, it's understandable why the place was busy and popular on a Friday night. I would definitely eat here againMore
