Mama's Hawaiian BBQ is located very near the University of Arizona and most of its clientele are students in this location. It serves Hawaiian cuisine which is mostly borrowed from Asia. I like their barbecued shortribs which is an offshoot of the Korean "cousins". Of course, it has to have the Spam Musubi which is a slice of spam on... More

We ate at mamas the second week in June while visiting Tucson again. We are originally from Hawaii and are well versed on Hawaii local food, the macaroni salad was way too sweet and watery however the chicken tonkatsu was very good, the mahimahi was dusted with lemon pepper, which is unusual And was good , but quite a small... Three of us had lunch. Usual fare, wanted to try the spam sushi but they were out. Good food. Teriyaki usuals, what was really good was their desserts. Lemon bar was surprisingly delicious and pineapple upside down was good too. Price seems a bit high but portions were large. Nothing special on the inside but adequate and clean.

Say aloha to authentic Hawaiian food! The LOCO MOCO - Mama’s special seasoned ground beef, topped with a fried egg, served on two scoops of white rice and covered with beef gravy or the BIG KAHUNA - Beef Teriyaki, Chicken Teriyaki and Kalua Pork served with your choice of two sides! How about - SPAM AND EGGS- This island favorite... More

I don't even bother looking at the menu. You have loco moco? Shut up and take my money. Steamed rice topped with a ground beef patty, topped with gravy, topped with a fried egg. Delicious.

One of the best Hawaiian Barbecue places we've ever dined. The food is filled with lots of delectable flavored. The service is great. You can order food to eat in or take out. The prices are very good. We will definitely come back again.

I am constantly amazed at the diversity of menu and speed of food delivery 24 hours per day even when hundreds of UA students are demanding in their drunkeness from these folks.

Varied side dishes to choose from including veggies and brown rice (will pay a bit more for .50) Try the almond encrusted tilapia. Not greasy at all! Service very good! Great sauces! Price right! Definetly value meal! Very close to University!
