We’ve enjoyed stopping in for tamales every time we’ve been through Tucson in the past 6 years, but this stop will be our last. The restaurant was empty, tamales were inedible soggy masses of masa, side options were unappealing and the staff was less than...enthusiastic about our presence. It is so sad to see a local restaurant that we’ve so thoroughly enjoyed go so far downhill.More
Visited the Tucson Tamale Company on Tanque Verde for a weekday lunch. They have a great selection of tamales to choose from - a la carte or as a combo. They also have several dessert type tamales. They have COVID-19 procedures in place with social...distancing, masking, and seating closed off. They have a small patio out front - it was nice out that day so we sat outside. I went with the “traditional” beef tamales as a combo - chips/salsa & ranchero beans. They are filled with a lot of meat that was very tasty. I would recommend these tamales. Service was slow and they messed up one of our orders - we had to go back and reorder as they forgot one plate. I would return at a later date to see if there has been improvement in the service. Went back and forth between 3 and 4 - ended with a 4 based on the great tamales !More
I went to Tucson Tamale to order some desert tamales. The woman that worked there told me they didn't have any, and may not in the future. They were so popular that they all sold out; but that they may not have any more in...the future and may not bring them back at all. Does it strike anyone as stupid that a popular item that sold out may not be brought back? What a missed opportunity and poor management.More
Great tamales. Try the Thanksgiving dinner tamale with Turkey, stuffing and cranberries in November.
I was sad to see Tucson Tamale Factory leave Broadway Boulevard, which was close to my home downtown. Whenever we venture far from home, make a point to stop here whether it's the one on Tanque Verde or on Oracle. We especially love the New...Delhi tamales, which are the best vegan ones ever! Also, it would be doing yourself a disservice to pass on their pico de gallo. It's so good! As you can see in the pictures, the staff are just so friendly every time we go.More
These are shipped everywhere as well! They have places to sit but this is my favorite for pick up Try all the varieties! So easy. The kind of thing where everyone gathers, some cold Mexican beer, and you got it!
Husband is from Tuscon But we live in Ontario Canada Tamalies here are wrapped in banana leaves...tasty. There corn husk...ok. Honestly ours is better. There very expensive...wow Compare to here. USA usually cheaper but it wasnt. We like ours better. More flavor. Tasty. Cheaper.
We were a bit disappointed to find this was in a strip mall, and almost decided not to go. The place itself is a bit disappointing and smells weird. The tamales and sides were good. Lots of choices. I’d eat here again, but I doubt...it’s the next tamales in Tucson.More
Eat in, take away or stock up for home. TTC offers a variety of quickly prepared tamales (and burritos) for lunch, dinner or any time in between. They are all tasty, can be ordered alone or with a small variety of southwestern sides. They also...offer them frozen to take home or they will ship. There are three locations S/E, foothills and N/W. We have been enjoying their tamales for several years.More
Food was exceptional. Very wide selection of tamales and burritos, sides. We took ours home to eat. Only a couple tables; really just a pick-up station, I'd say. They close at 7:00 pm weeknights at most locations.
Organic corn masa makes all the difference! Imaginative and traditional fillings are delicious as is the salad. Worth a visit or two or three!
Stopped for lunch. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. I got the chili rellano tamale and the green chili tamale. They accidentally gave me a curry tamale, which they replaced quickly, but let me keep the curry. Loved the spicy black beans and Mexican slaw....I plan to ask them for the recipes.More
These are the best tamales I’ve ever tasted! They have such an incredible variety of tamales too. They are a family owned, local business and it shows in the exceptional quality of their food. There are many options for vegetarians too. They do not use...lard in making the tamales and they use organic, non gmo masa! The restaurant is small, but you can also find them at a few local grocery stores and online. I’ve gifted these tamales to many out of state friends and family!More
We moved here from New Mexico and were very excited to see a restaurant dedicated to tamales. However, they were on the dry side, with too much masa, and not not enough filling. Seemed pricy for what you got. I wish I could write a...better review due to our excitement, but it just can't happen,More
