This is an amazing restaurant, especially as it is hard to find authentic Chinese restaurants in Tucson. I am boring, typically order the beef noodle soup, Chinese hamburgers (肉夾饃), stuffed pancakes (牛肉餡餅)。My wife typically orders the pork buns (猪肉包子), haidai veggies (海带), minced meat noodles (炸酱面), steamed dumplings, and the onion/scallop? pancakes (葱油饼).
As someone who always has to eat southern-styles of Chinese food, this northern-style is a glorious reminder of some of China's best staples. This is also great for those looking for accessible, authentic Chinese food.

I had heard about a new Chinese noodle place in the area, but reviews were mixed, including some complaints about lack of cleanliness. Decided to give it a try since my last experience with the other Chinese place in the same plaza was disappointing. I was pleasantly surprised. The place was empty when we arrived and everything looked perfectly clean and tidy. The food is from northern China where wheat flour is the staple and rice is rare. The menu struggles a bit as most of these dishes don't have common English names yet. Pies, buns, cakes and pancakes are not inaccurate descriptions, but they are certainly not like what you would find with the same name in other local Chinese restaurants. It's a small family business. They don't speak much English. They do have 8 types of dumplings. We had the chicken and carrot dumplings and they were hand rolled and flavorful. We then tried the pork bun and the beef bun. They're a bit like a hamburger with shredded fried meat. They substituted green onion for the cilantro and scallions mentioned on the menu. The bun itself is baked to be crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. My friend found hers salty. I could see this being a light meal or snack.
I was generally pleased with the food and will be back to try some other menu options. The prices are affordable. Be warned that they do not serve the standard Chinese American dishes here. No chop suey, no sweet and sour, no broccoli beef and no cashew chicken. Also no rice and no fortune cookies. There are plenty of other places in town serving that stuff if you really want it. Enjoy the taste of something different for a change.
