The temperature inside the restaurant was almost as cold as the outside...60 at best. It was noisy, had strobing lights from the fans, service was barely present. Ordered the bacon wrapped meat loaf and chicken Florentine. Not impressed. Worst tasting meat loaf, we have no...idea what was in it, but it didn’t come close to a traditional comfort food. The chicken was fairly boring, the sauce was more like a thick sour cream with bits of artichoke and spinach served over mashed potatoes and topped with beans and squash. Overall, not impressed. Was so cold by the time we left that we had to warm up in our winter jackets.More

22 years ago I moved here to Tucson. My first job was managing a restaurant at The Doubletree called the Cactus Rose. I was only there for a short period, but met some very nice people while I was there. The casual, sister restaurant there...was called the Javelina Cantina. I was just a small bar & grill with nothing real special about it. Fast forward to last week.......I read about the Javelina Cantina space now being occupied by a new restaurant called the Copper Rock. So I decided to make it a date night experience. One word describes my first impression......WOW! This place has made an amazing transformation into a new Tucson hot spot. The staff was friendly as soon as we walked in. The hostess was very pleasant as she seated us. Our server, Calin, was beyond charming and knowledgeable. She patiently walked us through the menu and helped us make some very nice selections. The menu by the way has something for anyone and everyone. Chef Lambert has produced a menu that is not too stuffy and not too casual.....just right. The energy in the room is very good, the décor is outstanding, the staff well trained, and the food was delicious. In fact, I was so impressed that we went there again the following day for lunch. Get out and support this locally owned restaurant. It's well worth it!More

I drive past this place nearly daily and have had my eye on it since the renovation started. The place is bright and airy and has copper detailing throughout -I imagine once the lights dim it's pretty cool looking in there too. The service was...fast and friendly and the menu had a ton of drink and food options that sounded absolutely delicious. I settled on the southwest burger and fries being that I had limited time. The burger was super tasty though it was well done and I had ordered it medium. I've never been a fan of battered fries but theirs were pretty tasty too. I look forward to visiting again and trying more menu items. Keep it going guys, you're off to a great start.More
