Very nice service and hospitality at this restaurant. We ate late (around 7:30) and were told not to sit outside unless we wanted to be on the mosquito menu ourselves. The menu was very Haddock focused. My wife had the Haddock with crab on top. It was OK, but quite bland in all honesty. The fried green beans were good... More

The restaurant did not officially open until five but they were nice enough to let us sit on the patio/deck at 4:30 and serve us drinks until dinner. I ordered a Lobster dinner and my husband ordered Black bean soup and a Cesar salad. Both were very good and reasonably priced for the area.

We needed a place to grab lunch after the marathon. We had a baby with us, so we needed some space. Service was good. Beer was good. Food was good. Quaint. Nice deck area. Right on the water.

We arrived late in the dinner service on a weekend, just after the place had been slammed with several large parties, along with a tour group of nearly 20 people. Even so, we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. Low-key but friendly service, though I had to remind the server to bring a beer that one... More

On our recent trip to Bar Harbor, Maine we took an over-night trip to Lubec, Maine. We stayed at Water Street, the Eastern-most Tavern and B&B in the United States! The room was satisfactory, no frills. Street noise and a cool breeze lulled us to sleep. The second floor (room level) has a nice common room where the bay view... More

My mother and I had dinner here and were disappointed. Risotto with shrimp was the special. I am a vegetarian so I asked for risotto without shrimp. It was undercooked. The service was very slow throughout our meal and the waitress didn't bring us bread until the hostess was clearing a table near ours and noticed we didn't have any... More

One of the better places to eat in Lubec. Family run, friendly and a good selection of things to eat. My wife had the Mixed Berry Salad and it was very good. RECOMMEND. I had the haddock chowder and I found it bland, very thin based, and heavy on potatoes. The entrees we had were tasty. Make sure you save... More

Came for lunch on a Wed. They were out of a handful of things already which was a bit disappointing but we were all able to find something we wanted and they had. Everything was really good. Super fresh. Haddock bites were fried just right and not greasy. Crab burger was amazing.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Water Street Tavern. We started with the bacon-wrapped scallops which were heavenly. The haddock chowder was a little shy on the haddock and heavy on potato, but the base had a great flavor. I also ate their strawberry rhubarb pie, which I loved! The service was excellent, and our waitress was very friendly. Beer... More

My best friend and I had the good fortune to stay several days in Lubec. We had 2 dinner meals at the Tavern. It was GREAT. You can't beat the location. They have many draft beers to choose from. The food was great as well as the staff. Judy and Jim are the ownership are in house. Be sure to... More
