I went with a group of 5 women. The restaurant was dead with the exception of one other table. The service was horrible. The server was not knowledgeable of the menu. I had to ask several times for water refills. We had to look for our waiter to put in our order. Salads were good. Crab cake was great. Dessert... More

Had dinner with my wife tonight and started with the bruschetta which was great. My wife had a wine which measured out to about 4oz of wine, a bit light on the pour. We split the filet for $35, which we were told was 10oz, but I don't think that made the cut for the price, maybe 8oz. Steak was... More

This was not our first time at CAV, but in the past we've been there for lunch or dinner. We met some friends here for Sunday brunch, and the place was jammed. (Definitely make a reservation - fortunately we did as I don't think walk-ins could have been accommodated). As others have said, the food is eclectic, as is the... More

Went with a group of 6. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, there was something on the menu for everyone & all loved their meal.

You will be well in your right to expect whimsical dishes to match the grandeur of this vast and quaint eatery sprinkled with antiques, African and Asian art covering a large array of genres and styles. But the contents of your plate will fall well short of your expectations. While the menu promises a few original offerings, the average tastiness... More

Saturday night dinner during Family Weekend at Brown. The place was packed. We made reservations online but still had to wait about 1/2 hour when we arrived - the place was a made house. But once we were seated, everything was just fine. We had a nice table towards the back, away from the noisier large, central room. The food... More

The dining room alone makes this place worth a visit - it's quaint and cozy and you feel like you've visited someplace special - a nice little getaway without getting away. But the food is also pretty tasty, mostly. (Some dishes are better than others. The egg dishes were all delicious; oddly, the much-acclaimed French toast was unappealing: thrown on... More

If you want to dine in a cozy, interesting and eclectic atmosphere then check out CAV. The interesting decor and d'objects d'art are worth the trip alone. The restaurant is fairly large, but it has all kinds of nooks and crannies, warm tapestries surround you, so it feels a lot more intimate. We were seated at a nice table off... More

When we were seated, the server told us we were in an active antique business and any decoration we see was available for purchase. The food and service were excellent. It was a longer walk from the hotel than we expected and the staff called us a cab.
