Two people had lunch. We sat outside on the patio which was very nice. The waiter was attentive and helpful. The food was good. Salmon dinner and pasta with littlenecks. Both lunches were fresh and very tasty. The pasta with littlenecks had a generous amount of pasta and littlenecks and had a spicy sauce.

Another wonderful evening at Cafe Nuovo, with Tricia, Nick and Megan taking wonderful care of us all night. We had a retirement party with about 40-50 people and everything was wonderful. Crispy sushi appetizer, grilled pizzas and the potato lakte passed plates were wonderful. Beautiful setting by the river and Sean was by to check on us all night. Best... More

Got to eat outside which was great. Appetizer sushi that we ordered was the best and if I did go back I may just get that as my entree. Dinner entrees we got were just fine (and spendy so I expected more than just fine). Short ribs weren't cooked all that well and the dish was pretty salty. The gnocchi... More

Food was OK, service was terrible, felt like we were after-thought to server (John B), the kicker was when we got the bill we were charged $3.50 for iced tea refills and the glasses were only 8 oz (maybe 10). Completely over priced, absolutely RIDICULOUS to pay for an iced tea refill. Will not return. Suggest you save your money.

On our 16 day tour of New England this restaurant provided the best food although it was quite pricey. It is in a lovely location by the river and has a busy, buzzy atmosphere. We both ate locally caught fish but there were lots of other options and the food was served so attractively on unusual shaped plates and dishes.... More

This is not really a cafe, its a italian-oriented mid-range restaurant that deserves a decent rating because of the service levels. Food is ok, maybe a bit more expensive than it needs to be. But, it had a great buzz about it, guys rushing around and very attentive and flexible service. By the river, so if weather is good, book... More

First, I have to say that downtown Providence is one fine place, with a wonderful indoor mall (Nordstrom, Apple, etc, etc,) within easy walking distance of several great hotels and restaurants. My wife and I chose the Cafe Nuovo based on Tripadvisor reviews, and are we glad we did! It is a most attractive restaurant with lots of glass, and... More

After a great dinner in town the night before we tried Café Nuova having heard their desserts were top notch. We didn't agree. Desserts were ok to good, but main courses were over cooked and underwhelming preparations of typical dishes. Prices would have been fairly high had the food been on target. But as it was not - I would... More

Six of us visited recently for dinner & water fire & we had a wonderful evening! All 6 enjoyed our meals: rib eyes were cooked as ordered & tasty; swordfish & salmon plates were fresh & cooked perfectly & very good; lamb shank, again, cooked perfectly & delish as well as the calamari & shrimp appetizer. Wine selection is very... More
