As you walk in you'll be assaulted by the strong odor of stale beer and seafood. Staff was professional but looked unhappy. Food was ordinary. We walked here from our hotel because of some good reviews but were disappointed. Won't be going back.

Bit disappointed with the oysters as there were kind of bland and didn't have that essence of sea taste. Could just be the wrong season for them though. BUT the cherrystone and little neck clams were superb if you are looking to eat them raw. Very impressed with the Faroe Island salmon. The zucchini "pasta" were thin as angel hair.... More

Fancier than I expected, with white tablecloths and professional service. Exceptional raw bar - oysters were super-fresh, briny and delicious, as were the raw clams. The clear clam chowder was very good - we don't have that on the west coast. Caesar salad was large, extra-crisp and tasty. Full bar, large wine list. Meals come with variety of bread and... More

Everything is great here. Having dinner later and stopped in for something to hold us over. Amazing oysters and little necks

I always like coming in for a drink and appetizers at the bar. But last time I came for dinner I had the baked lobster with bread crumbs and butter and it was the most unbelievable, rich, buttery lobster dish I ever had. Its not something you can have all the time but wow, was it great!

In the middle of a sea of Italian restaurants, Providence Oyster Bar provides an excellent seafood alternative. Appears to have a great happy hour but we had lunch. Very good chowder and the lobster roll was to die for.

We were there for happy hour and it did not disappoint. Oysters and clams for just $1 apiece and lots of other specials, too. We stuck around for dinner and enjoyed that, too -- my seared scallops were very large and sweet. The happy hour prices are available until 6:30 but only at the (crowded when we were there) bar... The food here was amazing, some of the best I've had in providence! We went late in the night and sat outside, which was nice, but I felt the service was a little slow. The martinis are strong!
